Unfortunately we lost our fights.
We were both the first ones up(in different categories) and we never got the chance to record each other.
I was too agressive at the start of my fight and expended too much energy trying to control my opponent but not making him tap. I took too long to get him out of mount so when the fight was over he won by referee decision.
Ridian did an amazing job of controlling his opponent, almost submitting him with an arm bar but he spent some time on the ground and not on his feet so we think that is why the referee decided he lost when his fight was over.
We got the chance to role with grapplers from all over Ireland after our fights, which was extremely enlightening.
All in all an amazing experience.
It illustrated the uniting and empowering force of the grappling arts.
Hopefully this will be the first of many competitions to come.
