Bellacragher Boat Club

Bellacragher Boat Club ISA Training Centre and sailing Club, making sailing & boating accessible and affordable

Bellacragher Bay Boat Club was formed in 2003 by Seamus Butler Claggan and Brian Masterson Owenduff, in response to interest from the people in Achill, Mulranny and Ballycroy. Founded on the principle of making sailing ' affordable and accessible ' and in choosing a name, they picked the Bay that links all three areas together. Deemed by the ISA to be ' The role model for the development of sailin

g in rural Ireland' it aims at representing all the communities around the bay, membership is 1/3 Ballycroy 1/3 Achill and our other communities make up the rest with 1/10 being from neighboring Mulranny and Newport.

Discover the magic of a starlit night with Newport Tidy Towns! Reducing light pollution isn't just about revealing the beauty of our universe—it protects local wildlife like bats, owls, and moths, while improving our own sleep and well-being. By turning off unnecessary lights and choosing warm, downward-facing fixtures, we can build a brighter, healthier future. Let’s protect our environment, preserve biodiversity, and save energy together. Dim the lights, see the stars, and help keep Newport’s skies dark and our future bright!
