Your new Professional Men’s Physique Athlete! From all of us here at DMF Gym, his gym family and his family (and his very proud wife and CEO of Don Maguire Fitness 😉. I’m writing this as he’s too humble to announce it himself on the gym page 🥹, as it’s not about him…. But it is important to acknowledge and celebrate! ✨

In a sport (& world) that is focused on comparison, one where you can find it easy to question your journey or wonder if you should change direction, if you should change approaches, quit or keep going and pushing on. Don has stayed consistent and humble 👌🏼

Since 2017, he’s competed naturally through personal and business setbacks, injuries, four lockdowns, and more than a few blocks in his way and he’s done it with silent perseverance and integrity.

Don built this gym not from a big loan or from savings, he started with a few hundred euro and machines he’d collected and turned every profit into expansion and improvement turning what was a 1 unit gym with 12 machines to the place it is today. He kept it going through every closure, and still showed up for others while chasing his own goals.

Last weekend, just 3 days after carrying his precious life long best friend/Grandad (Don Snr) to his final resting place and saying one final emotional goodbye, he got back to work (which wasn’t easy in the slightest but Don stepped on stage and earned his Pro Card. His professional status, a title that only a handful of athletes achieve, marking him as one of the best natural bodybuilders in the country. A lifetime achievement and dream to most in this sport.

Today he’ll represent and Irish Natural Bodybuilding on stage for his first ever Pro Show… and although he isn’t expecting anything but experience from this. (As only one week between being a pro and standing on stage with pros) No matter the outcome… We couldn’t be prouder of the man behind the medals.
