Sunday R E L E A S E

Come flow it out and then rest in guided meditation and sound bath. The perfect way to close out your weekend and give yourself the rest and release that you deserve.

It’s so easy to stay with what’s comfortable, the same habits and routines that have shaped you so far. The beauty of yoga is that it teaches you to fully experience each moment even if that’s a moment of discomfort. The natural reaction is often to change/abandon/leave/avoid anything that brings us discomfort whether physical mental or emotional.

The yoga practice teaches us to sit with it, become an observer of it, and use tools like your breath and bodily awareness to lessen it.

The more you can let yourself sit in uncomfortable things (which might just be ‘new’ things!) the more you will learn and grow and experience.

Everything is temporary. The pose only lasts as long as you’re in it, that’s one of my favourite realities of vinyasa is that we’re only in each pose for but a moment. The discomfort you feel in the pose could feel intense, but in the span of your life it’s but a blink of an eye.

I don’t think we’re meant to forever exist in terrible pain and sorrow, but the message here to me that just as pain is temporary so is success and pleasure. Rather than avoiding discomfort to always seek pleasure we must understand that this moment here is the only moment that’s guaranteed so we may as well make peace with our constantly shifting temporary reality!

If we can embrace the discomfort and allow ourselves to sit in it for that moment we are allowing something new and different in, possibly allowing ourselves opportunity and growth. Joy doesn’t feel as joyful without a little bit of sadness to balance it out. 🙏

Nothing better than a date with yourself. It’s so important to find a way to reset and recharge that feels right to you.

I find it so easy to overextend myself and get run down, so I’ve really embraced the power of self-preservation and saying no to protect my energy.

What plans are you making with yourself this week?
