⚽️💙 CONGRATULATIONS KYE MONGAN! 💙⚽️

Everyone at Ballinasloe Town AFC would like to congratulate Kye Mongan on his move to Athlone Town AFC, where he will play U14 National Level football with their academy. 👏

Kye has been a brilliant member of our club throughout his time with us, coming through the academy ranks and always showing an outstanding attitude, commitment and work ethic. A fantastic kid on and off the pitch, Kye has been a pleasure to coach and watch develop.

With his sweet left foot, ability and determination, he has already enjoyed some fantastic experiences in his young footballing career including helping Ballinasloe Town win the Bob Paisley Cup in Liverpool, as well as representing the Galway League during his time with the club along with being names players player of the year in 2025. 🏆

A huge thank you to Leanne, Pat and the entire Mongan family for their support of Kye and for being such a valued part of our club.

We would also like to thank all of the Ballinasloe Town AFC coaches who have played a part in Kye’s development throughout his time with us. Every coach, session and experience has helped him along the way, and we are incredibly proud to have been part of his journey. 💙

It is a great honour for Ballinasloe Town AFC to produce young players who go on to represent clubs at the highest level nationally, and Kye is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through talent, commitment, hard work and the support of family and coaches.

Kye, we are incredibly proud of you and wish you every success in this next chapter.

Two newly formed U18 girls teams faced each other today in Championship football. Our Ballinasloe girls made the trip over to our friends at Colemanstown United. And what a game it was.

Rain poured down in the first half and we saw both team struggling to get control of the game. Ballinasloe broke the deadlock when Captain Rachel Huban scored a screamer from the middle of the park. Almost immediately the opposition responded to level the game. Leah Kelly got our second with a solo run, rounded the keeper and gave us a 2-1 lead at half time.

Second half Colemanstown started brighter and leveled the game once again. Town dug deep and Mia Dowd got our third using her pace and strength to power through the defense.

Colemanstown did not give up and piled on the pressure looking to equalise. A late corner saw our Keeper Emma Burke making a crucial connection to push the ball to the post securing the win.

Very hard to pick a POTM today as all gave 100 percent for the win but Alice Pyles Nery was outstanding today in midfield 👏👏.

The u13 girls played their season opener at home this morning to knocknacarra,this fixture hardly ever disappoints and today was no different,both teams went head to head form the first whistle and towns defence of saoirse,Beth, Michaela and Paige defended brilliantly throughout,the midfield worked tirelessly going forward and defending when needed.

Very few chances to speak of but it could of went either way right at the end when firstly a through ball found a knocknacarra player through on goal but Maliyah was bravely out to close her down,right after einin broke down the right and whipped a cross in which just clipped the cross bar fell inside the 6 yard box but unfortunately we couldn't find that clinical touch to grab all three points.
A brilliant game played by both teams and a great advert for girls football.

🚨 ☘️ INTERNATIONAL CALL UP 🚨 ☘️

🇮🇪 KEELA MEEHAN DONNELLY 🇮🇪

Former BTAFC academy graduate Keela Meehan Donnelly has been called up to the latest Irish u17s international girls squad. We are all very proud of your accomplishments to date Keela and you are a great role model for all BTAFC academy players coming through the ranks at our club.

The girls will travel to Spain next week, where Ireland will play two friendly internationals against Belgium with U17 European qualifiers to follow later in the month.

Keela now plays at National Level with Athlone Town AFC who are are one the key names when we speak about Women’s and Girls football in ireland.

BTAFC 2-2 Craughwell United

The u17s got their season off to a start this afternoon at home against craughwell. It was a hard, physical game but the lads stood up to every challenge Craughwell sent their way with towns back line of Logan, Tiernan, Ethan & Aaron solid from the start. Town had a few chances through Noah, Dylan and Cillian but it was Sean Loughnane that broke the deadlock around the 40 min mark.
Craughwell responded well, and their equaliser came in injury time of the first half from a corner with a bit of miscommunication and a ball that wasn’t dealt with quickly. The lads worked hard for the last few minutes of injury time and went in 1-1 at the break.
The second half started & it was Craughwell that got off to the better start, taking the lead after 15 minutes, Kirill pulled off a really nice save but it spilled and Craughwell were quickest to react. 2-1.
Town wasted no time responding when Sean got his second of the day after receiving a really nice pass from Cam, running the right back and placing it in the bottom right corner, a deserved equaliser to make the game 2-2.
Through a couple of injuries town had to reshuffle the back line and Oskar who started up front stepped into Centre half. Towns backline dealt with everything thrown at them, Craughwell had a free kick edge of the box which they took well but Kirill pulled off a brilliant save to keep the game level.

All the lads played very well today, heads never dropped and kept working until the last kick.

Man of the Match today goes to Kirill Khaliman who was superb between the posts pulling off some outstanding saves.

⚽ Ballinasloe 5–1 West Coast United

What a fantastic performance from the Ballinasloe lads today! From the first whistle, Ballinasloe were the better team and controlled the game throughout, showing great teamwork, determination and attacking football.

The goals came from Cameron, Anatolii, Lynchy, Ryan Mc and Tyler, with all the lads contributing to a brilliant team performance.

Ballinasloe kept the pressure on and never allowed West Coast United to settle into the game, deservedly coming away with an impressive 5–1 victory.

🏆 Man of the Match: Mike Lynch — a superb performance from Mike, who worked tirelessly throughout the game and fully deserved the award.

A brilliant result and another great team performance. Well done lads! 💪⚽👏

15s Premier 0-2 Athenry

Jumping up from division 3 to the premier division this BTAFC 15s team played well in the first game of the season.
Rock solid defensively limiting a good Athenry side to long range shots in the first half.
The hard running and heat got to the town with only 2 subs on the bench Athenry got lucky with a bobble going over the keepers legs to allow a first goal. Athenry then pushed on with good pressure and got a second goal to finish the tie.

Best for the town on the day was Andrew Corcoran, Tommy Egan, Cian Casey and Ethan Berrigan ⚽⚽

U13 B Team travelled to Cregmore today for their first league match of the season.
The squad consisted of 11 players so a hard work ethic was on the table from the first whistle!
It wasn't long after the game started that Sean Lonnergan opened the scoring with a super goal from just outside the box.
2 minutes later Odhran Rutherford knocked one in to make it 2-0.
The hard work continued and an assist from Kealan Costello gave Tymur Malikov our 3rd goal followed by a screamer by Kaylan Thornton. 4-0.
This in season we welcomed new players to our squad and they weren't long proving themselves with an absolute top class curve ball going straight into the bottom corner by Petie Keighery jnr.
The team worked so well together with constant encouragement and support leading to names on the score sheet for our new comer Leo Bakowska another for Kaylan Thorton and Sean Lonnergan. Kealan Costello finished the scoring with afew minutes to go making the final score 9-0 BTAFC.

U13 Premier 2 result :
Maree/Oranmore 1-1 Ballinasloe

First league game of the season we travelled for an early 10 am kick off to Oranmore. A cagey first couple of minutes we didn't really get going. As the half progressed we started to get a foot hold in the game and the space started to open down the wings where Jacob and Reece were getting in down the line getting some excellent crosses in and winning corners.
Reece put in 7 corners in the first half but we just couldn't get a head on them.

Defensively we were strong, Jack M, Alojzy, Tiernan and Jack D. all worked hard. Oranmore only got in behind twice when Nathan came rushing out to close the gap and the strikers effort went wide. Also making a low save to the bottom corner.

Emily Mae, Senan and Ruan winning the duals throughout the middle of the pitch.
Emily's scanning and reading the play was on top form today. While Harry worked his socks off up front on his own holding the ball up and laying off.

Some strong words from Warren at half time saw us come out in the second half with a bit more bite.

After a dominant opening few minutes we got rewarded with a thunderous strike from outside the box from Alojzy.

Oranmore never gave up the fight and started to put pressure on. And with 13 minutes left on the clock a corner headed clear with the taker delivering a pin point perfect ball into the 6 yard box was brilliantly flicked home.

1-1 saw us going all out for the win the final 10 minutes and put Oranmore under a lot of pressure. Tommy reacted quickest to a brilliant cross but the Oranmore keeper pulled off a brilliant save to keep the game 1-1.

Very entertaining game and a well deserved draw for both teams.
