Everyone at Abbey Rovers would like to wish Aoife and her family every success as she takes another exciting step forward in her football journey.

Having recently joined Longford Town FC Academy, Aoife has now also been selected for the FAI Girls National Player Pathway (NPP) Programme – a fantastic achievement and one that is thoroughly deserved.

Over the past few years, Aoife has shown that hard work, dedication and talent can open doors. Her commitment to improving her game has been evident to everyone at the club, and we are incredibly proud to see those efforts being recognised.

We would also like to thank Longford Town FC Academy and the Longford & District Schoolboys/Schoolgirls League for the role they continue to play in Aoife’s development. We look forward to watching her continue to grow as a player.

Aoife will always be part of the Abbey Rovers family, and we couldn’t be prouder to see her continue to develop and embrace this wonderful opportunity. Opportunities like this don’t come around very often, and we know she will make the very most of it.

Well, associations cup is a wrap.
Aoife's Ireland white team were beaten 2 nil in a good competitive game by Ireland Green team on Saturday who went on to beat Northern Ireland 2 nil to win the Associations Cup.
The white team had a comfortable victory over the Isle of Man in the trophy final and Aoife was among the goal scorers.
Aoife was delighted to represent her club Abbey Rovers and the Longford League at this level and played in all games for her team. She is thankful to her club and Longford coaches and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

🏆 Associations Cup 2026 - Day 1

A huge well done to Aoife Tiernan of AbbeyRovers FC Leitrim, who put in a fantastic performance yesterday in Ireland’s strong win over the Isle of Man at the Associations Cup in UL. 🇮🇪⚽

Aoife played half a game and was unlucky not to score herself, but she made a massive impact with three brilliant assists, a superb contribution and a great way to start the tournament.

Everyone in the Longford League is incredibly proud of you, Aoife. Soak up every moment of this special weekend.

Everyone at Abbey Rovers is incredibly proud of Aoife Tiernan on her selection to represent Ireland on the SFAI White Team at this weekend’s 2026 Associations Cup in the University of Limerick.

It is a fantastic opportunity and a reward for all of Aoife’s hard work and dedication. We hope this is the first of many opportunities to wear the Ireland
jersey.

All of Aoife’s teammates at Abbey Rovers, along with players from clubs right across the Longford League, will be wishing her the very best of luck for the weekend.
