Northern Gaels welcomed Killala to Lacken this evening for Round 4 of the Treanlaur Catering Junior Football Championship.

The game started off with a couple of Killala points but the lads responded with a goal from Ruairi McDonnell. After Killala responded with a goal of their own McDonnell struck for another goal to leave the lads 7 up at the break.

The lads started the second as they finished the first and second half goals from Marc Munnelly x2 and Tommy Clarke sealed a comfortable but very important win in the end.

Congratulations and thanks to all the supporters who came out to shout the lads on! They now face Ardagh next week in the final round!🇬🇳🇬🇳

After a bye in Round 3 of the Treanlaur Catering Junior Football Championship, Northern Gaels return to action and welcome rivals Killala for a highly anticipated North Mayo derby in Round 4 of Group 1 this weekend.

The game takes place on Saturday evening with throw in at 6pm in Lacken, with the referee Sean Tolan.

This is a must win game for both teams so get out and support the lads and make home advantage count!

Northern Gaels held their August 50/50 draw tonight in Bessie’s tonight.

The winning total was €1050 and won by Martin Mullowney.
The €50 spot prizes were won by Anne Marie and Ryan Flannelly and Martin Clarke.

Congratulations as always to the winners and thanks to everyone who continues to support this club fundraiser!

New entries are always welcome and it is just €50 for a yearly subscription which enters you into 12 monthly draws.

Northern Gaels travelled to Achill for their Group 1 Round 2 encounter in the Treanlaur Catering Junior Football Championship this afternoon.

The first half was tight and Achill got an early goal but we got a goal back. Unfortunately Achill got another goal before half time and went in 6 behind at the break.

The lads started the second half very slowly and didn’t register their first score until the 24th minute. The lads narrowed the gap to one in injury time but ultimately came up short in the end.

The scorers from today’s game:
Ruairi McDonnell 1-03, Cathal Boland and Tommy Clarke 0-03 each, Marc Munnelly 0-02, Daniel Walsh and Owen Loughney 0-01 each.

The Treanlaur Catering Junior Football Championship continues with Round 2 taking place in Group 1 this weekend.

Northern Gaels will make the long journey to face Achill for throw in at 3pm on Sunday.

The lads want to build on the victory from last weekend so get out to support the lads and shout them on. Tickets are not required for this game, there is no charge!🇬🇳🇬🇳

Northern Gaels welcomed Ballycroy to Kilfian this evening in Group 1 Round 1 of the Treanlaur Catering Junior Football Championship.

Ballycroy got an early goal but Marc Munnelly got a goal for Northern Gaels and the lads went in 3 up at the break.

The game was tight early in the second half but a two pointer from Tommy Clarke built up a cushion and the lads pushed on and won out by 9 points in the end which is a great start to the championship for the lads.

Thanks to the supporters who came out to support the lads and made the home advantage count this evening. Thanks must go to Bessie’s Bar who are our match day sponsors for the year. Enjoy the bank holiday weekend!🇬🇳

What a week it’s been and firstly congratulations to the Mayo team on bringing Sam Maguire home!

With all the celebrations taking place this week, the Treanlaur Catering Junior Football Championship has creeped up on us all.

Northern Gaels face Ballycroy in Round 1 of Group 1 this Friday in Kilfian with throw in at 7pm.

This could prove to be a huge game as this group progresses so it’s vital to make the home advantage count so get out and shout on the lads!
