Sunday 7th June
5th Team T20 Double Header
An ultimately frustrating day for the 5ths, but with a lot of positives to take away.
First match against a Strong Stillorgan side was reduced to a 10 over shoot out due to concerns over weather. Despite a strong bowling performance, a few too many extras were conceded making for a challenging total to reach. We never really got going and ended up well short of the target.
In the second match of the day against Cavan, a strong bowling and fielding performance limited them to 103. Our young bowlers (Aavesh u11), Darian (U13), Euan (U15) caused all of Cavans batsmen’s problems throughout the innings. We got off to a flyer in response with Matt and Aman put on 17 in 3 overs before the rain finally arrived and halted proceedings.
2nd Team V Clontarf
It was an agonising 4 run defeat for the 2s , but lots of positives , the lads fought well to keep Clontarf to 279 after they started very strongly. In the chase there was runs for Bhavesh , Kai and Samad as we pushed all the way to chase down the score before the rain came leaving us just 4 short of a winning score.
3rd Team v Tyrellstown
Tyrellstown put up 198 batting first , 3 wickets for Ollie Richardson and 2 for Hamza were the highlights on the bowling front , it was a score the lads would have been happy to chase but a bad start left them behind the game , Karan with 67 runs was the only batter to get started for the Brig as we fell short on the day

Monday T20
1st Team v Malahide
Malahide got their revenge after our win against them 2 days earlier , our score of 139 wasn’t enough as Malahide kept ahead of the required rate and after a rain break , reached the new required score relatively easily ,
T20 form for us hasn’t been good but the lads can focus on the longer format as we are showing excellent Premier League form and are second after 5 games

Wednesday Women’s Game
Women’s 2s v Pembroke CC
An excellent bowling performance from the young 2s side was the driving force behind the win as we bowled Pembroke out for just 42 , Slipper Erin Knight shone with 3 wickets , supported well by Sara Eldo with 2 and wickets for Maya Maritz , Anna V , Mia Keenan and Zoe Harper.
The ladies didn’t make the chase easy for themselves as Coach Chuka dabbled with the batting order , but the win was secured and the ladies Division 3 season is up and running.
Thanks to all who helped get so much cricket played over a very wet week , a massive effort from the grounds team , everyone who made teas and all who helped set up the ground , score games and were down to support the players
Back the Brig !!
