From gait analysis, trying on runners from their range, getting expert advice and some great coffee, it was great seeing a lot of familiar and new faces in the store last Saturday morning

“We’ve become hyper fixated on the supplements and the routines and all these different things that are making us potentially a little bit miserable” -

Sometimes we chase those potential 1% boosts and ignore the basics. We can’t see the forest from the trees or, as Bri would say, “touch a bit of grass, pull it back”

Did you sign up for the marathon to build all these extra routines that don’t directly involve getting out the door and going for a run?

We can get caught up on all the trends we see online, and we’re guilty of it too which is why we get the experts on the podcast!

If you’re not fueling your runs, training properly and getting your sleep/recovery all the extra supplements and 1% boosts are not going to do much for you… and are going to make you worse if you’re stressing about them as well!

“You’ve got to enjoy the process” - .barry

Whether you’re training for your first marathon or worn the green bib, you’ve got to enjoy running at some level.

Doesn’t mean you’re going to attack every session with equaled enthusiasm but, overall, you’ve got to enjoy the journey you’re on to whatever running goals you have… or it will get harder and harder to get out the door, especially as the nights and early mornings get darker and colder

What is a “good” 5k time?

On the back of last night’s 5k event, we thought it would be a great time to post this

Depending on your running circles, some aim for that magical sub 20 min 5k… it might be a surprise that only 1.85% of people get under it, despite seeing 15,16, 17 min 5ks win local events

The median times for 5k is A LOT higher!

The point of this post is not to compare yourself to others, because we all have a skewed interpretation of what a good 5k time actually is!

These numbers surprise you?
