Class competition info

Hi everyone,

Some information about the class competition on this Saturday 11th April at 9.30am-12.30pm in St Fiaccs hall, Graiguecullen, Carlow.

Firstly it is a very laid back environment , as a class competition it will only be dancers in our school and classes.

We run individual dances in class all the time and solos so dancers do not need anything pre prepared we have covered everything at class.

The intention is to slowly introduce our dancers to a competition environment to give them some experience if they eventually decide to start competing at National competitions (please note: they never have to do national competitions if they don’t want to).
It is also just a good way to motivate our dancers and promote creativity, skill and performance.

It will be a fun morning, very relaxed and we will explain everything over the microphone as it goes along.

Dancers can wear anything they like maybe a dance dress/tutu/leotard if they have one at home or leggings and a top.

Hair should ideally be worn up, once up any style is fine eg ponytail, plait etc.

Tickets are €10 per person (dancers and spectators).

We will have 2 adjudicators travelling from Dublin both of whom are members of the All Ireland Dance Federation. Our 3rd adjudicator will be Dance Republic Teacher Sarah, so our kids will know one friendly face ( Sarah is also the Dance Coordinator for the level 6 performing arts course in Carlow Institute of further education) so our panel is very professional and will add to the experience for all the kids.

We will have a dance shop on the day and tea and coffee will be available at the venue.

Please note: All dancers will take home a prize on the day.

Looking forward to a lovely morning of dance and watching our dancers show the talent and skills they work so hard on weekly.
