Congratulations to all our level 2 kayak graduates this week 👏

After a summer of practice and tuition from our volunteer instructors we’ve had 11 members progress to Kayak Level 2 Skills Award. It’s a fantastic achievement for all involved 🎉

All their hard work over the summer paid off yesterday evening with a beautiful river trip to test their skills.

And a special thank you to all our volunteer instructors who have given up their time over the summer.

Monday night was the 1st night of our July Level 1 kayak skills course.

Everyone did fantastic, learning new strokes, playing games and getting to experience how to capsize and exit the kayak safely 💦

They’ll all be back later in the week for nights 2&3 👏👏👏👏

👏👏👏👏 a massive congratulations to everyone who completed their Intro to SUP course on Monday night.

And thank you to our volunteer instructors for giving up their time to help introduce people to the fantastic sport or Stand Up Paddle boarding 👍

The skills learned on these course help people to paddle safer, more efficiently, relaxed and stay a little dryer 💦

LEVEL 1 KAYAK SKILLS - ONLY 2 PLACES LEFT…….

Starting next Monday while the weather is so good. This will be our last Level 1 course for the summer so don’t miss out.

Monday 20th, Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th. Starting at 6:30 pm each evening.

Cost: €120 (includes Canoeing Ireland membership and club membership for the rest of 2026). No additional cost for going on club paddles and using club gear for the rest of the summer 🌞 and winter if you’re up for it 🥶

Requirements: Attendance on all three evenings is required to receive your Level 1 certificate.

What’s Included: Use of a club kayak, helmet, buoyancy aid, and paddle.
What to Bring: We recommend wearing a wetsuit and old runners.

Learn the basics, gain your Level 1 certificate, and become part of our kayaking community!

Folks Please Remember, the swimming pool car park is a private car park for pool users & members only during the summer months.

We leave it open for the other 9 months of the year to the public, so please obey the signs & park somewhere else if you’re not using the pool.

A fantastic night of skills training. New skills for some, and a refresher for others.

When the water is this warm it’s ideal for practicing our various rescues and having a bit of a swim.

The first night of our latest Intro to SUP was yesterday evening, and they couldn’t have had nicer weather or warmer water 💦

The second night kicks off on Wednesday and it looks like more of the same 🌞
