Thank you to all our Enniskerry Pure Mile Volunteers, at this year's awards we won the Heritage Award for our project to identify some of our local well known fields and name them on slates. Special thanks to Carl for his beautiful artwork, and Noel for mounting them, and it was great to receive the award from Cllr. Melanie Corrigan one of our own volunteers
As Enniskerry Pure Mile, we cover Ballybrew, Curtlestown, Kilmolin, Kilgarron, Barnamire, Killegar and Knocksink.
We were also joined by Sean who recieved an award as youth ambassador for starting up the Berryfield lane Pure Mile. Well done Sean.

Just sharing a note of thanks from the Knocksink Woods National Parks and Wildlife Service, for all work we did in May and last Saturday in clearing litter from the special area of conservation, near Monastery. We picked out another 18 sacks of litter on Saturday. The work was also in support of Heritage week. Overall, both the jobs were much bigger than expected, but worth it to help the wildlife and biodiversity we are fortunate to have so close to the village.

A great day working with the National Parks and Wildlife Service as part of National BiodiversityWeek. Today a group of our Pure Mile volunteers under the guidance of Mark O Callaghan, Head Guide in Knocksink Woods Nature Reserve and Special Area of Conservation (SAC), tackled a fly tipping litter area in a section of the SAC adjoining Monstery Road. Mark gave a short talk on this special and unique gem on the door step of our village before rolling our sleeves up and getting to work. 26 sacks of litter later, we estimate we may have only collected just over half of the domestic rubbish dumped in our nature reserve. As this particular part of the site is very ecologically sensitive due to Tufa Spring and nesting bird presence, we will need to return at a later time in the year under the guidance of the NPWS. Huge thanks to all the hard work of our volunteers and Mark of the NPWS who helped with the rubbish clearance and support and guidance.
