Two boxers from St Michael's ...

Back in 2006 St. Michael’s Boxing Club, Athy had an incredible year claiming 4 Irish Elite titles and one finalist in the championships that year. David Oliver Joyce, John Joe Joyce and Eric Donovan would win the titles in their respective weights with David Joyce losing to club mate Roy Sheahan also. The boxers are pictured here with their proud club coach and former IABA president, Dominic O’Rourke 🥊

***Training Resumes This Evening!****

We’re back in the club this evening, with training starting at *6:30pm*.

And with the new season getting underway, we are now welcoming new members.

Ages 11+
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
6:30pm

We will also have our Junior's Class for ages 6–11 starting in the next few weeks:

Sunday mornings
10:00am (Parents can stay and watch)

New members are encouraged to come along and give boxing a try.

All of us here at St Michael’s were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Joe Carthy.

We want to offer our sincere condolences to Joe’s family and friends, and especially to his father Willie, a valued volunteer and member of the club.

Our thoughts are also with those who were seriously injured in the collision, and with their families at this very difficult time.

Well done to our 3 boxers the past weekend who boxed in the u15 and u17 championships.
1st up was Cameron Moran in d semi final, unfortunately it wasnt to be, losing on a 3-2 split. Boxed out of his skin, we thought he done more than enough to win but it wasnt to be.
Harry Kelly was next up and boxed a more experienced boxer in the semi final just losing on another split decision 4-1, Harry is improving all the time.
Daniel Lambagiu won his semi final boxing a kid a year older. Boxed the european champion from last year in the final gaining great experience and showing he can mix it with the best of them.
Well done to all the lads and as a club we couldn’t be any prouder of the performances they put in. Gaining more experience and learning all the time.

Best of luck to our 3 boxers this weekend in the Under 15 & Under 17 National Championships. Cameron Moran and Harry Kelly box in the u15 and Daniel Lambagiu in the u17. Best of luck lads. All the hard work is done. Go and perform🥊🥊
