It’s Cathal Mannion’s birthday and we asked him what he wants for it? He said last 32 of the FAI Junior Cup and we couldn’t say no.
With depleted numbers, the lads put in a serious shift to get this one over the line. A bad head injury in the first half made us use our only sub earlier than planned. That didn’t phase the lads and they stuck to the game plan until the end.
In the 82nd minute, Eoin Monaghan never gave up on a ball he had no right to win, pulling it back across to the box which was picked up by Ciarán O’Reilly who smashed it into the roof of the net. A good defensive effort seen it through for us.
We play Forth Celtic from Wexford in the next round away. Fixture to be announced.
