So, following the WEPA Championship action on Saturday at Strikers Sports Club we had our Junior and Senior categories played out on the Sunday along with the final stages of the Men's Championship.
Well done to Rob Malynn on claiming the Men's Championship title, Rob beat Peter Tully in the Final. Rob & Peter made it through to the final by defeating Paul Glynn & Alan Claffey in their respective semi finals earlier that day.
Tommy Tiernan was once again in attendance, this time for the Seniors event, but was also there to present the trophies.
The Seniors event final will be played at another time with Paul Minagh and Paul Creighton challenging for that title.
In the Junior event, we had competitors ranging from 8-14 years of age which is great to see. It's gonna be a good year for our Underage categories with many new competitions lined up.
Keep an eye out for more upcoming Junior events.
The 2026/27 season kicks off in October.

We have the *Under-12's, 15's & 18's from 12pm today, Starting at 12:30.*
I have my kids playing, along with some of their mates.
It's a "get them involved" & a photo op promotable event for these categories going into the 2026/2027 season which starts in October.

We have the Over-50's Championship today from 2pm.

We had a few winners yesterday...
Well Done to Sarah Moran, WEPA Ladies Champion 2026, Sarah beat Deborah Keegan in the Final. We had plenty of new players and players returning, which is great to see.

Well Done to Kian Hopkins, Winner of the Under-23's & Men's Shield event. Kian beat Ryan Egan in the Under-23's and Dylan Gaffey in the Shield Final.

In the Men's Championship, what started out with 48 players is now down to the final 4; Alan Claffey, Peter Tully, Paul Glynn & Rob Malynn
We had a few shock results, plenty of good pool and we even had the one and only Tommy Tiernan in the house. Tommy loves the Pool and he had a few decent results, but it was great to have him at our new base; Strikers Sports Club Athlone.
The Semi Finals with commence from around 4pm today.
