Bluemoose are one of Ireland’s top wedding bands, so Philip and Dave know a thing or two about bringing family, friends and communities together through music.

Between them they’ve decades of experience touring Ireland and all over the world, but this Saturday they’ll be bringing the festival vibes to the Big Day Out!

From rock anthems to pop hits and mam & dad’s guilty pleasures, they’ve got you covered (just don’t ask for grunge versions of Baby Shark and Let It Go!)

Jonah (12) and Luca (15) Hielscher are brothers from Esker, Athenry. They have been playing music for the past six years.

Together they like to experiment with different genres of music playing everything from rock to ska to more classical pieces.

They are looking forward to entertaining you all at the Big Day Out!

Are you ready to meet our fifth Music Act at the Big Day Out and the next generation of rock? Meet:

🎸Préachán🎸

Hailing from Esker, Athenry, these young musicians may only be 12 years old, but don't let that fool you—they're here to rock! Formed by friends and classmates Jonah, Donncha and Darragh in January this year, Preáchán have already built a set packed with legendary covers from the Ramones to Radiohead.

Infared are a four piece post grunge band. They take a lot of inspiration from bands such as Nirvana, Green Day and the Jins, but are also inspired by Paramore because of their energy and female vocalist.

The Big Day Out is this day week in the Park! Saturday, 8th of August from 12-4pm! RSVP Athenry’s Big Day Out 2026

Have a look at our slides to see all the activities we have lined up!

We have a jam packed schedule of fun for the children in the ticketed area! From circus, to music, dance, face painting to crazy golf, storytelling, drumadore, to yoga and arts!

Our free access area will feature handmade crafts, vendors selling food, coffee, bakes and ice cream, and LIVE local music throughout the day!

The weather is looking mighty ☀️

This is our only fundraiser to help maintain and pay for repairs for older equipment in our beautiful, bright, new community owned playground! We have put countless hours in to it and really appreciate the community support!

Say a big hello to our 3rd Music Performer at the Big Day Out on Saturday 8th August 2026 on Athenry Park!

🎤 Aela Seoighe 🎤

Aela aged 11, comes from An Cheathrú Rua in Conamara. She has loved singing from a young age and enjoys performing contemporary pop music, from modern chart favourites to songs as Gaeilge. Coming from a strong Irish-speaking community, music and culture are an important part of her life.

Aela is particularly delighted to be performing at the Big Day Out in Athenry, where many of her extended family, the Rohans, are from. Music is deeply rooted in her family.

Her grandfather, Kevin Rohan, is a well-known fiddle player and singer, while her Daideo, Micheál Seoighe, is a renowned sean-nós singer and winner of Corn Uí Riada.

Aela is looking forward to sharing her singing with family, friends and the wider community and hopes everyone enjoys her performance.

Ag súil go mór leis! 🎶
