Aikido is a Japanese, natural movement martial art, to co-ordinate your mind and body for health, self-defence, and self-development.

The principle is to avoid attack, blend with your attackers movement, and establish control.

The Wicklow Aikido Club is still accepting new members, and classes are every Thursday at 7pm!

The organisation has had a very busy year - We run intensive weekend training seminars with Seán MacRuairí Shihan, 7th Dan, once per month in our Dublin dojo, and we also welcomed Irie Sensei from the headquarters Hombu Dojo in Japan for a seminar in April, and we had our first residential summer course since 2019 this summer in Limerick, stretching nearly a full week!

All alongside our weekly slate of classes, in Dublin, Galway, Maynooth, and Wicklow!

This Summer, we welcomed Y. Irie Shihan from the Hombu Dojo to come to Ireland and teach a seminar in our Dublin Dojo! He taught over 3 days, where we had over 50 students practicing for the weekend. We invite instructors every year, so please become a member if you are interested in hearing about our upcoming seminars!

Our next advanced Aikido seminar is on the 15th and 16th of April, in our Dublin dojo.

Every month, we run a weekend seminar in our headquarters dojo in Dublin - a full weekend course of more intensive intermediate and advanced Aikido practice.

These courses are suited to people who have at least gotten their first grade in Aikido, and are interested in more intensive training.
