Match Report: Parkvale FC vs Mourne — First Game of the Season!

Our first match of the new season saw us travel away to face Parkvale, proudly kitted out in our brand new kit, sponsored by Herberton Leisure 🆕⚽️

We were short a few players, meaning just 12 in the squad — so not much rest for the girls today! With several playing out of position, it took a little time to settle into our shape and find our rhythm. We threatened their goal a few times but couldn't find the breakthrough, while our keeper Darcie had a quiet afternoon at the other end. All square at the break — 0-0.

We came out stronger in the second half right from the off, and Bella gave their full-back a torrid time! Darcie pulled off a couple of fine saves to keep us level, then midway through the half — we broke the deadlock! Bella beat the defender, raced in behind, and slotted coolly into the bottom-left corner. 1-0 to Mourne! ✅

We kept pressing: Casey was a constant menace down the left wing, while Jodie and Ynes held things together brilliantly, keeping our shape and protecting our back three. Then, with just 5 minutes remaining, we won a free-kick 20 yards out on the left. Bella stepped up — and smashed home an absolute cracker! 💥 2-0 Mourne!

A long, tough match with only one substitute all game — but every single player stuck together, fought hard, and played their hearts out. Fantastic team spirit! 💪

Our team black U11 boys were in action at the weekend, the first game not only of the season but very first game for many of the boys. 2 great goals scored and lots of skill on show. Well done boys

One of our Under 13 girls teams had their first league game of the season yesterday morning, where they travelled to Verona FC
