Great game. We created lots of chances on goal and played some really good football.

It was also great to see three new girls getting their first game tonight. Welcome to the team!

Our under 14 boys faced their second game of the season at home to Portlaoise A in Stonearch this morning.

With the disappointing loss of a few players this season and the challenge of trying to play games in the middle of the GAA championship, our boys put on a very brave performance against Portlaoise who operated two divisions above them last season.

We only had 7 players available from our panel for the match this morning and huge word of thanks to our u13 players for helping us out this morning.

The lads were under pressure throughout this game. Our back line of Renee D, Frankie C, Darragh C and Ruairi O’C defended bravely under great pressure. Robbie M had an outstanding game in goals and made a number of fine saves.

Our midfield had a difficult challenge against a technically strong Portlaoise team but as usual Jack B, Byron F, Sean C and Max M never shirked their responsibility.

We struggled to create chances throughout the game but Max M, Daniel K and James M competed gamely.

Ultimately, it wasn’t to be our day as Portlaoise ran out comprehensive winners.

Well done to Ruairi O’C who was our captain today.

Frankie C and Robbie M were our players of the match. Well done boys.
