A lovely gesture by Abbeyleix Juvenile Soccer Club to remember Adrian “Dil/Freesy” Freeman, who passed away earlier this year. Adrian had deep connections with our GAA club, and his son, nephews and wider family continue that sporting connection. All are welcome on Sunday in the park in Abbeyleix to witness this lovely tribute 💚💛
This Sunday, we will come together as a club to commemorate the legacy of our former player, coach, colleague and Friend Adrian “Dil” or “Freesy” Freeman at 2pm outside the dressing rooms in Fr Breen Park.
We will unveil a plaque to honour his memory and pay tribute to the legacy that he leaves behind following his untimely passing.
He was the epitome of everything that a dedicated club person should endeavour to achieve. He had an honour laden career in the Abbeyleix jersey and when he hung up his boots, he dedicated countless hours to coaching young kids and helping them achieve their sporting ambitions. He progressed to helping the senior squad. A hard job at the best of times but he was never found wanting in that regard and continued to give back to the players and club selflessly every week.
A very small tribute to honour the memory of a great person.
We hope players, former players, parents and all who knew him will join us at the ceremony on Sunday.
