Truly something to add to your bucket list, make sure you are in Bali for Nyepi 2027 because you do not want to miss out on this!

The day before the Balinese New Year (Nyepi) the Balinese parade these demon-like sculptures through the streets called Ogoh-Ogohs. They soak up all the negative energy on the island and then are burned and destroyed in time for the following day of Nyepi when the island stands still and silent, allowing these evil spirits and the negative energy to leave the island, starting the new year with positive vibes only ✌️

The guests at the surf house enjoyed a special trip to our local Pecatu parade to see the amazing Ogoh-Ogohs our local community had created, which are designed and planned all year long, often take 3+ to make and cost thousands of dollars!

Such a special experience, we love Bali ♥️
