I guarantee you’ve said “I can’t do this” to yourself at some point this week.

People around you might respond automatically and say “don’t be silly, yes you can!! Come on, you’ve got this!”

Well, I’m going to respond differently and say “yeah you probably can’t do it if that’s how you speak to yourself”

Why? Because YOU need to be backing YOURSELF before others can back you.

Me telling you that “you can do it” if YOU don’t truly believe you can deep down, is pointless.

Your mindset and your thoughts, that inner narrative you have, is getting in the way of your success.

The moment you step foot in that gym, that room, that meeting, you need to tell yourself “I can do this, I’m going to do this.”

🧠People really underestimate the power of the mind.

💭Create more positive thoughts.

✨Have more confidence in yourself.

💸Commit to success.

As the old saying goes, “if you really put your mind to it, then you can do it”

So, if you’re thinking of starting or progressing your fitness journey, make sure you’re giving yourself the best chance by being positive from the word GO!

If you doubt yourself before even beginning, you’re creating limits that don’t serve you.

The thing you THINK is the problem…

Usually isn’t the problem💥

It’s easy to blame the external factors, isn’t it?

But the real problem tends to lie deeper🧠

The real problem is almost always an internal factor.

Your negative mindset is what stops you from losing the fat, showing up to the gym, investing in yourself and your health.

“I’m not going to spend money on something that isn’t going to work”

You’re right. It’s not going to work if you go into a coaching journey thinking it’s NOT going to work.

All of my clients leave their past beliefs behind when they come on board my programme.

Because how far have those old beliefs got them? Not very far at all.

So that’s the key thing you need to change.

Start actually believing in your capabilities.

Start actually trusting yourself to commit to a process and HAVE IT WORK.

Start learning that in order to love your self, you’re going to have to SHIFT something internally.

That’s why I focus on your mindset when you work with me.

I don’t force you to lose X amount of weight in X amount of days.

I help you, through new habits, training, nutrition and accountability, to strengthen not only your physical health, but your mental health too.

Because that’s ultimately what will help you to unlock all the doors in the future to seeing results.

Change your mindset, and the rest will follow suit.

Jo came to me when she was fed up.

Fed up of trying everything to lose weight but seeing absolutely no results.

She was more active than ever, yet still, no results😤

I introduced a structured training programme, tailored her nutrition targets to her goals, and looked at her daily movement outside of the gym.

Jo loves expressing herself through the clothes she wears, but found that she wasn’t confident enough to keep doing this before we started.

Instead of wearing her favourite bright clothing, she would hide away behind boring shapeless clothes just to avoid being seen.

Last week, she got back into those favourite pieces of clothing and LOVED HOW SHE FELT.

Since starting a few months ago, Jo has been extremely committed to her nutrition and training.

She has learnt how to hit her protein goal consistently (a Vegan too!) and has seen some AMAZING progress both in and out of the gym.

She even went on a 3 week trip to America half way through working together and still kept active, enjoyed all the American treats and didn’t feel guilty🍩

“All of this has really become a part of me and I am very pleased with this development”

She has gained some serious strength and lost some serious centimetres!

We’re not even done yet!

Excited to see how she carries on progressing while continuing to put her physical and mental health first💙

From feeling lost and trying to hide herself…

to feeling so much more confident in her skin and building some SERIOUS strength!🍑

We have worked together since May, and in that time, Steph has remained SO incredibly consistent with her training.

👉🏼She was READY to COMMIT to change.

She has transformed her strength, taking her old 1RMs for working sets now, while also pushing herself out of her comfort zone (which can be the hardest part of a fitness journey)

💁🏽‍♀️She has the confidence to WEAR THE DAMN SHORTS(!) now without letting her old fears and judgments get in the way.

Being out of the house for most of the day made it hard for her to keep on top of her nutrition but I’ve shown her how that’s all possible without shoving a meal plan in her face. She can still enjoy food out and about AND HIT her nutrition goals!

No restrictions around here🙅🏼‍♀️

🧠Importantly, of course, we put her mental health first.

She hasn’t needed to step on the scales this whole journey, because she FEELS the difference in herself and that is enough

👉🏽Losing fat and losing weight are different things. Just because the scales haven’t changed, doesn’t mean you haven’t lost any fat. Use measurements, and know that you will also gain some muscle along the way

👉🏽Be patient. 6 weeks isn’t going to change you completely. Give yourself atleast 6 months and then see how you feel

👉🏽Life isn’t going to stop being busy. Stop delaying feeling great. If you started now, you’d already be seeing some benefits in a few weeks.

👉🏽Strength training will stop you being “skinny fat”. It’ll help you look “toned” as you lose fat. It’ll build muscle and strength which you can progress.

👉🏽If you don’t want to change enough, you’re not going to. You have to really want it. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Going, going, gone👋🏽

Our new place needed a bit of a facelift and I need a bit a tan 🤝🏼

So, I took full responsibility of this task and killed two birds with one stone👩🏼‍🎨🌞

This definitely counts as exercise btw, the bicep pump was real😂

My face in the second picture summarises the stress of trying to balance on that ledge for multiple hours🥴

I absolutely love doing anything creative. There’s that satisfaction of “look what I did!” while also being able to fully switch off.

Second coat still needs doing, let’s see if I ever get round to it😂

I just want to be “X” kg.

If anyone says this to me, I first ask WHY.

What does reaching that weight suddenly do?

We tie so much HOPE into a number bringing us strength, abs, confidence, happiness or whatever else you think magically happens at a certain weight.

I always say: if I could promise you that you looked more toned, you had more energy, you felt stronger, you felt leaner, happier, healthier…

Would you care what the scale said?

I’ve personally looked and felt multiple different ways at the SAME weight before.

I’ve felt both sad and happy in my body at the same weight. That number didn’t matter.

Stop letting that number define you.

Work on your confidence, your strength, your mental health and see how the weight merely becomes a “by product” or “side effect” of your change in lifestyle, instead of being the MAIN driving force.
