Corals are vital for marine life as they provide habitats for numerous species, protect coastlines from erosion, ensure food and income for millions of people. They also play a crucial role in climate regulation. Unfortunately, they are severely threatened by climate change, pollution, and overfishing.

Sea turtles are remarkable marine reptiles that play vital roles in ocean ecosystems. Here are three notable species:

Hawksbill Turtle
Habitat: Coral reefs and tropical waters
Diet: Primarily sponges; also eats jellyfish and algae
Size: Up to 1 meter (3 feet) in length
Unique Feature: Beak-like jaw ideal for extracting sponges from crevices

Green Turtle
Habitat: Coastal waters, especially around seagrass beds
Diet: Primarily herbivorous; feeds on seagrass and algae
Size: Up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) in length
Unique Feature: Known for its green fat, which gives it its name

Leatherback Turtle
Habitat: Open ocean; migrates long distances
Diet: Primarily jellyfish
Size: Can reach up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) or more

DSMB workshop in water practice.
