Why Clients Stay Stuck”
(As Coaches, what are we missing?)
For many years, I worked in leadership development doing what I was trained to do well.
Clarifying goals.
Supporting growth.
Helping capable people step into more of themselves.
And still, something didn't settle.
Leaders would grow.
They would gain insight.
They would genuinely care.
And then, six months later, the same patterns that were holding them back would return, time and time again.
Not because they weren't trying.
Not because the coaching wasn't good.
But because something underneath was generating this pattern.
And I realized I was participating in something I never intended:
The hope-despair cycle.
The one where clients arrive so hopeful… finally, the help they've been craving for their dreams.
They engage fully.
They make progress.
They feel momentum.
And then, a few months later, they crash back into the same stuck feeling. Old patterns re-emerge
Not because we failed…and here’s the missing part…
It was because we were working at the wrong depth. At the wrong layer of their pattern
Here's what I now know to be true:
Not all pain lives at the same level.
And pain at deeper levels creates its own products.
Here’s how I’ve seen this show up in session
You've seen the client who performs confidence, while something underneath stays scared.
The leader who drives results, while something hidden strives without rest.
The person who says all the right things — while their body tells a different story.
These aren't failures. They're symptoms.
Symptoms of pain that's creating performance as a solution.
So how do we recognise those symptoms and work at those deeper levels?
Well…we need a system because when we don't have a system for recognizing which layer we're meeting, we can work very skillfully, at the wrong depth.
And that’s exactly why I would love for you to join me on Thursday Jan 15th. I’m hosting a free 60min masterclass where I’ll be deep diving into this.
By the end of this masterclass you'll know:
How to recognise those symptoms
What’s needed to work at those deeper levels
How to move your client past these blocks.

I’ll see you there
