Please do not visit this place. Wake Pool in Keramas has closed down for good after their permits weren’t renewed.
Ask yourself this question - how can it be an “ocean experience” when the dolphins, stolen from the sea, now live in this rusty old sea pen.

Dolphins captured from the ocean, kept in rusty pens until they die, kept on the brink of hunger so they perform for food - where’s the fun in that?

Dolphin Lodge is not a good place for dolphins. They were all captured from the sea and now kept in these rusty old sea pens - imagine being kidnapped from the street and forced to live in one room for the rest of your life. It's the same.
Don't believe what the trainers tell you. These dolphins don't interact with you willingly as they are kept on the brink of hunger and get their food/reward when the obey the staff there.
There have also been several incidents of injury caused by dolphins - these are wild animals don't forget.
Say no to cruelty and captivity. Google "Jakarta Animal Aid Network" or "Marine Connection" and learn the facts about life as a captive dolphins. It is no fun at all.

Whilst you may think that you are helping saved Dolphins your visit will contribute to their imprisonment, capture and abuse.
What they advertise and will tell you, the tourist....They have been saved from fishermen.....
THIS IS FALSE THEY HAVE BEEN BOUGHT FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING MONEY FROM TOURIST'S WHO WILL PAY TO SEE DOLPHINS DO TRICKS, HAVE PHOTOS, SWIM & SO CALLED "PLAY AND KISSES" THOUSAND OF TOURIST'S EVERY YEAR MEANS THE OWNER MAKES A LOT OF MONEY- THERE IS NO REHAB OR RELEASE & NO MARINE BIOLOGIST OVER SEEING THIS OR ANY QUALIFIED TREATMENT FOR THE DOLPHINS, THEY DIE, THEY GET REPLACED TO KEEP THE MONEY COMING IN

they enjoy interacting and doing tricks...IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED THAT THIS IS AN UNNATURAL BEHAVIOR THAT IS FORCED UPON THEM USING FOOD DEPRIVATION AND REWARD WHEN THEY HAVE DONE A TRICK.
IT IS NOT THE SAME AS A DOMESTIC ANIMAL THEY ARE "BROKEN AND ENSLAVED FIRST"

IT IS A SCIENTIFIC FACT THAT THIS INTERACTION SHORTENS THEIR LIFE, PUTS THEM UNDER EXTREME STRESS & ITS A MATTER OF NECESSITY TO EAT.

They are let out nightly or weekly depending on which tourist they are talking to....INCORRECT- THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO DATE THAT THIS IS TRUE, IT HAS NEVER BEEN WITNESSED OR DOCUMENTED. DOLPHINS SWIM UPTO 46 KMS PER DAY AND STAY IN FAMILY GROUPS AND BECOME DISTRESSED WHEN SEPARATED. DOLPHINS. THEY OWNERS WOULD NEVER LET THEM OUT ITS IS THEIR CASH COW

They return for the food and eat better than they would in the wild.....AGAIN FALSE THEY ARE NOT LET OUT SO THEY DON'T RETURN THEY NEVER LEAVE... DEAD FISH IN FACT IS NOT AS GOOD AS LIVE FOOD. IN THE WILD THEY CAN EAT WHEN THEY CHOOSE AND HAVE A VARIETY OF FRESH FISH. HELD IN CAPTIVITY THEY EAT WHEN THEY PREFORM, WHEN THE TOURIST LEAVE FOR THE DAY THEY ARE LEFT TO LANGUISH IN THE WATER UNTIL THE NEXT PERFORMANCE.

Pictures of sea pens, the actual dolphins that you will see taken 21/07/2015.They also given tablets which we have been told are vitamins (which they would not need in the wild) but can not confirm what they really are.
These dolphins can not just be released they need to be rehabilitated as they have lost the skills needed to survive in the wild .Some have experienced more abuse than others. ,
