🌊The 3 most famous types of waves

There are several types of surf breaks and it’s a good idea to know about each of them before you gonna catch waves

Let’s take a look at the 3 most famous types of waves:

• Beach breaks are the ones where the waves break over a sandy bottom.

👉🏼The sand and the shape of the seabed shifts, which means the quality and shape of the waves at the beach are liable to change.

• At reef breaks, the waves break over a rocky bottom.

👉🏼The shape of the seabed remains consistent, and the line-up changes only according to the direction and size of the waves.

• Point breaks generally form beside a headland and can break over rock or sand.

👉🏼When the lines of the swell hit a stretch of land at a perpendicular or an oblique angle, breaking around and along the shore rather than towards it, that phenomenon is known as a point break.

Info about Waves in Bali
The dry season is from April to October and during those months offshore wind as usual comes to west coast breaks. So it means you can catch best surfing conditions in any break from Uluwatu and further to Airport area, Kuta, Canggu and Balian.

From November to April the winds can change direction from Westerly to Easterly, that's why offshore conditions comes to east breaks of Bali – from Geger beach on the South and further to Nusa Dua, Serangan, Sanur, Keramas.

Bali it’s definitely an island where you can surf during all year especially if you have locals people driving you in bests spots!
