Do you have the sense that you and a dear one are on different pages? đŸ€”âœš

I created a blog about IFIO sessions (Intimacy From the Inside Out) and how they can help you learn how to reconnect and communicate better with the dear people in your life!

It's all about noticing and becoming curious towards the parts of yourself and the parts of the Other that are taking over and leading your interactions.
It's rarely about the content and much more about the dynamics that play out when you are relating to each other.

Read the full article if you're curious about how this modality can support your relational wellbeing.

Reminder:

Often when you exercise and experiment with expressing something that matters to you and that feels scary and vulnerable to let out, you're welcoming home more and more those parts that believe they don't deserve to be there.

đŸŒ·Living in Harmony: When Your Parts Work Together

Imagine your inner world like a group of musicians, each part playing its own instrument. On their own, some notes might clash—one part could play too loud, while another barely makes a sound. But when Self steps in as the conductor, something magical happens. With each part finding its place in the song, they can begin to play in harmony, creating a melody that feels calm, connected, and whole.

This is what life feels like when your parts start working together. Instead of pulling in opposite directions, they learn to collaborate, with Self-energy leading the way. And here’s the thing: when your parts feel supported, they become your allies. The once-anxious part, the perfectionist, the critic—they no longer have to fight for control. They discover that they can trust you, and in return, you find life flowing more smoothly.

Living with harmony inside doesn’t mean everything is perfect. Challenges will still arise, and some parts will occasionally feel stressed or overwhelmed. But with Self leading, there's an ease—a sense that everyone belongs and has a role, even during difficult moments.

Another way to think of it is by imagining driving a car: your parts each have a seat, some in the back, some navigating beside you. They no longer need to grab the wheel because they trust you as the driver. They know you’ll listen when they need attention, but they also trust you’ll get everyone where they need to go.

When your parts feel heard and guided by Self, life shifts. There’s more room for connection—with yourself, with others, and with the world around you. You experience inner peace, not because life is without challenges, but because you know you have the tools to navigate it all with care and compassion.

So today, take a moment to imagine your parts as a team. What would it feel like if each one trusted you, and you trusted yourself to lead?

Harmony is possible, and it begins within.

Inner Firefighters: From Extremes to Advisors

We all have parts that step in with urgency when things feel overwhelming—those parts that may turn to impulsive actions, distractions, or intense reactions to protect us. In Internal Family Systems, these parts are called “firefighters.” They rush in to douse the emotional fire and keep everything from falling apart, even if their methods seem extreme. Think of these parts as the ones slamming on the brakes or pulling the alarm when emotions run high.

Their behavior might feel chaotic or disruptive. Firefighters' goal? To stop you from feeling something they believe would be unbearable. And they often carry a heavy burden—caught in a never-ending loop, reacting without the time to pause.

They often find themselves in a standoff with manager parts—the ones that have an agenda and demand control. Managers say, “Keep it all together, no mistakes!” while firefighters say, “No, stop it! Just let it all go now!” This internal battle is exhausting, leaving little room for peace.

What if these firefighters didn’t have to jump to extremes? What if the managers could trust that it’s safe to loosen their grip? This kind of balance begins when you approach these parts with compassion and curiosity. As you build trust with both sides, something shifts—each part realizes it’s no longer alone in the struggle. They don’t need to protect so fiercely when Self steps in with calm, confident leadership.

Unburdening isn’t about forcing change. It’s like gathering around a campfire, where firefighters and managers can sit side by side, no longer adversaries. As you tend to the deeper wounds—the exiled parts these protectors have been shielding—firefighters learn they can take on lighter roles, oftentimes becoming valuable advisors instead of extreme responders.

Inner harmony develops with every moment of compassion, creating a little more space for peace. The more Self leads, the more each part can relax, knowing they are finally heard and held.

Let’s honor those inner firefighters today—the parts that tried their best, no matter how messy it looked. 💛

You know that moment when young parts of you who have been strangers or overburdened for so long, finally experience Self and they feel seen, heard, received and held for the first time?

That moment. Pure healing. â€ïžđŸŒ±

Healing Wounded Parts through steady and safe presence

Sometimes, there are parts of us that carry old wounds—memories of pain, rejection, or fear. These parts might feel small, scared, or heavy, as if they’ve been frozen in time. They’ve been holding onto burdens for so long, believing it’s the only way to keep you safe. But here’s the truth: these parts don’t need to keep carrying the weight alone. They just need someone to listen. And that someone is you. 🌿

It’s like a child clutching a heavy suitcase, not even considering that they’re allowed to let it go. These parts often long for something different—a lighter way to be—but they just don’t know it’s possible yet. They’ve been stuck in survival mode, unaware that the world has changed.

When you approach your wounded parts with curiosity—without trying to fix or push them away—they begin to soften.
Imagine sitting down with one of these wounded parts, gently asking, “What do you need me to know?” When you make space for their stories they might say: “You weren't here” or “I feel exhausted”. They’ve been waiting for someone—you—to show up and take the responsibility off their shoulders, but they also don't know if they can trust your presence, your words.

This isn’t about getting rid of these parts. Through love they can shift into lighter, freer versions of themselves, knowing they no longer need to protect you or parts of you in the same way. As the Self, you step in as the responsible, loving leader—a steady parent who says, “I’ve got this now. You don’t have to do it all by yourself anymore.” 💛

Healing happens when we welcome parts in, listen, and let them know they’re safe. You know it's working because you experience more harmony inside— where parts of you feel held and supported.

When was the last time you sent appreciation to that part of you that kept you functioning and moving forward no matter what?

đŸ€” What happens when you truly tune in?

Have you ever noticed that nagging voice inside, telling you something feels off? Maybe it’s the anxious part warning you of potential danger or the part that’s feeling down and defeated. Often, we try to ignore or quiet these inner voices, thinking they’ll go away. But what if those parts were simply asking for your attention, waiting to be heard? 🌀

Every part of you has a story to tell. Some parts may be carrying pain, fear, or frustration, while others may hold joy, hope, or creativity. They are not your enemies, but messengers trying to protect you in the only ways they know how. When you tune in with curiosity—without trying to change or fix them—you can begin to understand the deeper layers of what they’re trying to say. ✹

Imagine your parts as members of a team, each with a unique perspective on the game of life. Sometimes, they shout to get your attention because they’re feeling ignored or misunderstood. When you bring Self-energy—the calm, curious, compassionate part of you—to these conversations, they start to trust you as their leader. Instead of hijacking your thoughts or actions, they quiet down, knowing they’ve been heard. đŸ§˜â€â™€ïž

It’s like sitting down with an old friend who’s been waiting to tell their side of the story. When you listen closely, you begin to realize that even the parts that seem loud, anxious, or angry are not trying to harm you—they’re protecting you in their own way. And all they ask is that you listen.

Invitation: next time you notice a part of you feeling overwhelmed or uncomfortable, pause for a moment. Breathe. Instead of dismissing it, ask with curiosity, “What do you need me to know?” You don’t have to solve anything right away, just listen. Sometimes, all your parts need is a little acknowledgment to feel safe enough to relax.

Remember: your parts are waiting to be heard, and when you listen to truly understand what they're trying to communicate, you create space for deeper healing and connection within. The more you practice this, the more harmony you allow within yourself.🌿

Let's tune in! Name in the comments a part that has come up for you today and their message for you.

"It was so incredible and accurate!"
This is what most people experience when participating in this workshop.

They get to witness and learn how similar we are as humans.
Parts of themselves have mirrors and equals in parts of others.

I love the connection and support that forms in this group activity. My heart expands each time seeing the effects that the unblending from parts has on participants.

The way every human in this container supports and holds each other with care and presence.

The desire (which oftentimes arises) for a resolution between parts rather than a constant inner battle.

Self-energy starting to come up for some of the participants while witnessing with love and curiosity their parts being embodied. Perspective and understanding.

Repair, at times (from Self to Parts, as a parent to their kids)

IFS Improv is such a beautiful format to bring parts work in a group setting and create and allow a relational field that can support everyone in their journey.

🩁Bold statement: "You are a gift to me, I am a gift to you"

When you drop the armor and you show me who you are, I feel closer, connected, and enriched.
All those layers of protection are and have been deeply useful...and yet, how liberating and satisfying is it when we get to be received and seen for who we really are?

There is magic, when imperfection and uniqueness are cherished rather than discouraged or shamed.

Connection happens, when I drop all the "should" of how you should be (to benefit me)...and allow myself to see you, fully, through curiosity and compassion, no goal, no doing, just being.

Growth happens when I don't see myself as the sun, but as a planet, same as you...when not everything is traced back to me, or gravitating around me, I'm not the (only) focus, you are...and we take turns because sometimes the sun shines on me and sometimes it shines on you and we get to witness each other in our own orbits.

What I'm saying is: if I see you and feel you, I receive the gift of trust and the honor of witnessing you in your humanness...and I feel closer to you and, as a side effect, to myself as well.

When we are being real and true to and with each other we are teaching ourselves that it's ok to live life in a more relaxed way...less in survival mode.

We can drop that armor, it's ok. And the more we practice that, the more we recover if we get hurt in the process.

Show your uniqueness. Be real. Be you. I'll be eager to see you.

P.s. this you can read it to receive it or to give it...notice what happens in you in each of those options...what are you hearing yourself saying to yourself? What do you notice in your body?

What's your level of comfort in feeling the uniqueness of another person?

Moments of stillness đŸ«¶

In my journey around personal truth I realized in these days how much it matters to have freedom to choose when being responsible for others.

It doesn't feel true to me to be responsible for others' lives and to have to follow someone else's wants and directions on how to deal with responsibility.

I feel it in my body when something feels true and aligned.
It doesn't happen only retarding relationships and emotions, it's also true for when I deal with very practical matters and decision making.

Can we set sail now? Where do we go for the night? Where is a good safe spot to anchor? How much endurance people on board have? With these weather conditions what is the best route? How long before we go find a mooring for the night?

If I experience so etching as true and aligned with me, my body is at peace, relaxed and at times even energized. The opposite, instead, originates contraction in my body, tension, a feeling of uneasiness, discomfort, resistance.

This week on the sea I feel more relaxed and fluid. I have time to flow and allow things to happen as they "want" to. There is more adapting to the elements and people's needs rather than respecting schedules and "going against" what is present.

In order to be responsible for (others), I need to be(feel) free of moving in ways that feel true and aligned with me.

This morning enjoy the stillness that ripples outside and inside.

Much love to you reading!

I'll be back in Bali land at the beginning of September and restarting private sessions as from the 19th of August.

Share in the comments your thoughts and feelings about your sense of truth and alignment.
