Unlike most cuttlefish, this little legend doesn't swim much. Instead, it "walks" across the seafloor using its arms, showing off those electric colors as a warning to predators.

Fun fact: despite only growing to around 8 cm long, the flamboyant cuttlefish is one of the very few venomous cuttlefish known to science.

Just another reminder that muck diving is never "just sand." 😉

🚨 BREAKING NEWS

After years of intensive research (and absolutely no peer review), scientists have concluded that guests who dive with Nomad Divers Bangka are objectively hotter, funnier, and at least 83% more likely to make "remember when we were in Indonesia..." their entire personality.

The scientific community has declined to comment.

Our previous guests, however, completely agree. 🤷‍♀️

Did you know a pineapple can take 18–24 months from planting to harvesting a single fruit? That's up to two years of sunshine, rain, and care for one sweet reward.

This little pineapple has been quietly doing its thing while guests have come and gone, seasons have changed, and life on the island has carried on around it.

A good reminder that some of the best things take time. 🌿

Ever wondered how to properly say nudibranch?

It’s pronounced: “NOO-dih-brank”
(/ˈnjuːdɪˌbræŋk/)

The name comes from:
🔹 nudus (Latin for “naked”)
🔹 brankhia (Greek for “gills”)

Fun fact: the famous “Shaun the Sheep” nudibranch got its nickname because its fluffy black-and-white appearance looks just like the cartoon character. Officially known as Costasiella kuroshimae, it’s also one of the few sea slugs capable of stealing chloroplasts from algae to harness energy from sunlight. ☀️🐑
