🇺🇸 FRIDAY PATRIOT QUOTE 🇺🇸

“I’m not political, but I am patriotic.”

~ Dolly Parton

✅ You don’t have to be political to love your country.

âś… Patriotism is about being proud of where you come from and grateful for the freedoms we share.

✅ And sometimes, a simple reminder from someone like Dolly says it best. 🇺🇸

The price of war is always great. The cost increases exponentially when leaders crap out on those they lead.

We honor the fallen and continue to call for accountability of those that allowed it to happen.

Lest we forget!

“Find out who you are. And do it on purpose.”

I never recall her not being upbeat or positive. Her music filled the houses and homes I’ve lived in my entire life…from Hee Haw to Dolly & Ken Christmas Albums.

It’s interesting how someone most of us never knew, can impact one’s life. We should endeavor to have the same kind of impact in those around us.

She was a legend. What else can be said other than “Thank You, Dolly” for all the laughs, memories and for reminding us that more often than not, the simple things are the things that matter most in life.

Patriotic Friday 🇺🇸

“We are each called to bear witness to the ideals of liberty.”

~ Lt. Gen. Harold G. “Hal” Moore

Liberty isn’t something we simply inherit. It is something we are called to defend, preserve, and pass on.

Hal Moore understood that calling. From Korea to Vietnam, he led American soldiers in war and never forgot the responsibility that came with wearing the uniform.

Today, we remember those who answered the call—and those who never made it home.

🇺🇸 Never forget what they gave us.

Did you know that some men carried the memory of their fallen comrades into combat with them?

Brigadier General Robin Olds named his combat aircraft “S**T” in honor of his West Point roommate, Major S**t Davis.

Davis washed out of pilot training because of color blindness and was sent to the infantry. He was later killed in action as an infantry officer during World War II.

But before Davis went to war, Olds made him a promise: S**t would still fly with him.

And he kept that promise.

From the skies over Europe to Vietnam, Olds’ combat aircraft carried the name S**T, followed by a Roman numeral. The tradition eventually led to S**T XXVII, the F-4 Phantom Olds was flying when he became a triple ace.

There is something powerful in that story.

Military service is about the mission, the uniform and the country we serve—but it is also about the men and women standing beside us. The ones who shared the long days, the hard times, the fear, the laughter and the bond that only those who served truly understand.

And when one of them is gone, we don’t leave them behind.

We carry their names.

We tell their stories.

We remember.

That is part of the price of service—and part of the privilege.

The best thing about adding this new brand to our veteran owned and family run business is the new friends we make and the pups we get to help along the way.

Thank you for being part of the journey!

✅ Some places get under your skin. They call you back long after you’ve left.

âś… For those of us who love wide-open country, dusty roads, mountains, rivers, and the freedom to explore, America still has plenty of places that beckon.

✅ Maybe that’s part of what makes this country so special. There’s always another horizon waiting.

Field Tip: Drying Wet Boots with Hot Rocks 🥾🔥

A pair of soaked boots can turn an enjoyable trip into a miserable one. Long before electric boot dryers existed, outdoorsmen, hunters, soldiers, and explorers used a simple field-expedient method: heated rocks.

The concept is straightforward. Remove as much moisture as possible from your boots, socks, and insoles. Warm dry, non-river rocks near the fire—not in the flames until they’re glowing—and once they’re warm enough to handle comfortably, wrap them in a dry sock or bandana before placing them inside your boots. As the rocks cool, replace them with freshly heated ones until the boots are dry.

⚠️ A few important cautions:

* Never use wet or river rocks—they can crack or even explode when heated.
* The rocks should be warm, not scorching hot. If you can’t comfortably hold them in your hands, they’re too hot for your boots.
* Avoid direct flame or excessive heat on leather and adhesives, which can permanently damage your footwear.

Knowing a few old-school field skills can make the difference between enduring the outdoors and enjoying it. Technology is great—until it’s not. Good woodcraft never runs out of batteries.
