Voetbalbond Indonesische Jakarta (VIJ) Persija Jakarta Hal itu ditandai dengan keikutsertaan wakil VIJ Mr Soekardi, dalam pembentukan PSSI di Societeit Hadiprojo Yogyakarta pada Sabtu 19 April 1930.

Persija didirikan pada tahun 1928, dengan cikal bakal bernama Voetbalbond Indonesish Jakarta (VIJ), tim ini adalah merupakan salah satu klub yang ikut mendirikan persatuan sepakbola seluruh Indonesia (PSSI).
