🍏First lesson - Intro

🌊 We talk about the Ocean and surf culture, rip currents, tides and safety in the water.
Practice the take off and balance

💸The Price - 550.000 Idr per person (around 45$)

*During the first lesson we teach in a white wash (the part of the wave that has already broken)

Passion, flow, effort and practice gives best results.
Many of our students start paddling themselves and learn basic turning techniques in the end of the first lesson.

Goals formulation and implementation 📝

1L - White wash (take off and balance), under the eye of your surf guide

2L - 1 part - Paddling, theory and self-guided work.
2 part - Correction work with a surf instructor

3L - Turning techniques - Theory and Practice

*depending on the size of the swell and your progress, in the second part of the third lesson - we may go to a main Line up (a peak) or small waves near the shore (a zone where waves start to brake), to ride along a wave Face

With respect to the Ocean and other surfers, considering your level of surfing, we pick the best spot and position in a lineup

An Alaia is a thin, round-nosed, square-tailed surfboard ridden in pre-20th century Hawaii. The boards were between 7 and 12 ft (2.1 and 3.7 m) long, weighed up to 100 lb (45 kg), and were generally made from the wood of Acacia koa. They are distinct from modern surfboards in that they have no ventral fins, and instead rely on the sharpness of the edges to hold the board in the face of the wave

Side note "have tried to ride one of those ancient Hawaiian Alaia boards yesterday, no fins, no leash, just a piece of wood. I tell you it's not easy, but feels like surfing with the nature. I think every surfer should try that at least ones in a lifetime, as a sign of respect to the ancestors"
