DAY 9 - 03 OCT 21: Rest Day Before T20 Finals
Sorry not to update daily, will do a recap when we get back to Bali.
Yesterday was a huge day for both Mens & Womens teams.
Starting with the Mens, they easily accounted for Jawa Barat yesterday with Kembar (Budiartha) knocking off danger mani Ramdoni for a 2nd ball Duck.
Jabar eventually finsihed their innings on 118 and it took the opening pair of Denpasar's Ketut Arya & Buleleng's Kadek Darmawan 12 overs to reach the target.
They will now face the winner of the Papua vs Banten Semi-final, but the final looks to be a replay of the Sixes final vs Papua, which have many Bali names in the team.
And as for the Womens team, well, they made the match a heart stopper!!
Winning the toss and electing to bowl, there was an early chance to remove DKI's opener Yuli but the catch was not made as 3 scrambled for position. She eventually made 14 before being bowled attempting a sweep.
While Rahma and Thor made 23 & 16 respectively, with Kerti and Sari doing most of the damage with 2 wickets each, they finsihed on 126 which was a fine line score.
Nanda & Winda did well to open with 29 in the first 4 overs, but the wickets quickly fell with Nanda, Winda & Yuk Mang heading to the bench in quick succession.
It was up to Gung Ita to steady the ship, slowly but surely, but wasn't until Dek Ecik (26 runs) & Yolla (23* runs) got in with their fast running between wickets that things really we set for us.
Yolla & Epik reaching the target for us with 8 balls & 3 wickets in hand.
The key to the innings is that we only gave up 7 extras, and you will find on this level between 2 similar class teams, that the extras are the difference.
To the final for both Mens & Womens, and its particularly important for the girls as they have made all the finals so far without taking home the Gold.
For the Mens, its revenge for losing to NTT in the Super 8 semi finals.
Fingers Crossed that Class will Prevail.
