Every Schaefer Class connects 12 principles:
Mobility: Mobility is the ability to control a joint through a range of motion without external force. Strength: Strength training is a type of physical exercise specializing in the use of resistance to induce muscular contraction which builds the strength, anaerobic endurance, and size of skeletal muscles. Flow: The action of moving along in a steady,
controlled and continuous stream. Agility: Agility is the ability to move and change direction and position of the body quickly and effectively while under control. Balance: Balance is the ability to maintain the body's position over its base of support within stability limits, both statically and dynamically. Partner Work: The human body has been made to react and move triggered by outside information, here we try to do exactly that. Movement Qualities: Every body is different and moves with different qualities. In this section we will try and find our own qualities and challenge our body to experience new ones. Animals: All animals have one thing in common. They move the most efficient way possible. Experiencing these types of movement allows us to reconnect to what we have been build for. Rhythm: This Training is a system of gentle minimal repetitive movements with the goal of a feeling of ease and lightness. Free Movement: The ultimate physical experience is observing ones body move without directing or controlling it. Flexibility: Every class we will concentrate on a different body part and allow a lot of time for the muscles to fully release. Meditation: Use the physical work to calm your mind.
