☯️Yao Chengguan one of the twin brother of Yao Zong Xun, explaining the action of the Hunyanli (multidirectional strength or the primordial chaotic strength)
👇Here is more:
⚕️Hunyuanli for health
Hunyuanli (“Unified primal force”) in yiquan refers to the power of the whole body, emerging from the center and expressed through harmonious coordination of body, mind, and intention.
This is not just muscular strength, but a global, fluid energy spontaneously accessible in all directions. Through regular practice—especially static postures (zhan zhuang) and dynamic tests (shi li)—one develops deep unity between body and mind.
This strengthens the nervous system, coordination, circulation, posture, and inner balance.
Working on simultaneous relaxation and tonicity increases vitality, supports overall health, reduces stress, and optimizes body-mind harmony. The key is feeling a whole-body wave or internal current, giving calm, connection, and profound stability.
🥊Hunyuanli in combat
In a martial context, hunyuanli is the ability to react powerfully in every direction without focusing on predetermined actions: “force without a set direction”. The entire body structure becomes responsive and elastic, ready at any moment to explode outward or absorb impact, instantaneously adapting to changing circumstances.
Yao Zongxun said: “Without hunyuanli as a foundation, there is no true martial skill.” This force creates constant availability, an animal-like, fluid, and unpredictable power—like “a banner in the wind” or “a fish in water”—never rigid, always adaptable.
☯️Wang Xiangzhai and Yao Zongxun saw hunyuanli as a quest for essence, “chaotic, primal force,” beyond mere technique.
➡️On the second video, the emphasizes we put in the hands and the fingers in Zhan Zhuang and Shi li in Yi Quan, synequanone condition for a free energy circulation throughout the body.
