Jauh sebelum Danau Toba dikenal dunia, di kedalaman hutan hujan Sumatra tersembunyi sebuah danau bernama Danau Sirah—danau yang airnya berubah merah saat bulan gelap.
Masyarakat penghuni hutan percaya, danau itu adalah tempat bersemayam Roh Penjaga Hutan, makhluk gaib yang terikat perjanjian darah dengan manusia. Selama pohon-pohon tua di sekeliling danau dijaga dan tidak ditebang, hutan akan memberi hasil tanpa batas.
Namun suatu hari, sekelompok pengembara melanggar sumpah suci itu. Mereka menebang pohon keramat dan mendirikan perkemahan di tepi danau.
Malam pun tiba. Raungan mengerikan bercampur jeritan manusia menggema di atas air.
Saat fajar menyingsing, air danau berubah merah pekat.
Tak ada jasad ditemukan.
Tak ada jejak kaki tersisa.
Hanya perahu-perahu terbalik…
dan warna darah yang perlahan memudar di permukaan danau.
Sejak saat itu, masyarakat hutan meyakini satu kebenaran:
hutan tak pernah melupakan—ia hanya menunggu.

Di balik perbukitan hijau di pedalaman Jawa, ada sebuah tempat yang disebut Lembah Seribu Doa. Konon, setiap kali angin berhembus di antara pepohonan, terdengar bisikan lembut seperti suara orang berdoa.
Warga percaya lembah itu menyimpan ribuan doa dari jiwa-jiwa yang tak sempat menyampaikan harapannya kepada langit.
Suatu hari, seorang gadis bernama Sinta tersesat di lembah itu saat mencari bunga langka untuk ibunya yang sakit. Saat malam tiba, ia mendengar suara-suara memanggil namanya — bukan dengan takut, tapi penuh kasih.
Ketika fajar datang, Sinta kembali pulang membawa bunga itu… dan sejak hari itu, ibunya sembuh.
Namun, tak ada yang tahu bagaimana Sinta bisa keluar dari lembah, sebab penduduk desa menemukan jejak langkahnya berhenti di tepi jurang — tempat angin paling sering berdoa.
