Coleman Shrimp

Usually, when you see photos of Coleman shrimp, they’re shot as a close-up pair framed by the cool patterns and strong colours of their host fire urchin.

Since this little guy was all by himself, I decided to pull back and highlight the full beauty of the urchin instead (partly because my reverse ring macro setup wouldn't let me get any closer!).

Sometimes technical limits lead to happy creative choices!

Where are we located?
We are situated along the northern stretch of the Lembeh Strait, right next to the 50-house village of Makawidey.

To the south lie the bustling streets of Bitung, North Sulawesi’s only deep-sea harbor. Looking across the strait toward Lembeh Island, you can spot coastal villages and the main road connecting them through the hills.
