Let’s talk about building some absolute cannon ball delts!
Your number one thought when it comes to this topic is probably “just spam lateral raises bro”
That begs the question, if I want to grow any other muscles, then shouldn’t I just spam that as well?
We know that low volume, high intensity training is the best approach to maximise hypertrophy (muscle building) so does that just not apply to your shoulders?
Even if it did, lateral raises only really target the lateral fibres of the delt so are we just gonna neglect the anterior and poster delt?
If I haven’t just convinced you that just spamming lateral raises isn’t the best approach to building big fk off shoulders just remember that I’m bigger than you and therefore that makes me right… suck eggs dog
But seriously, to build some 3D shoulders, I would recommend a heavy overhead pressing movement for the anterior delt (you likely don’t need much volume here as you should get enough from your pressing movements on chest day)
Of course, hit some lateral raises but don’t just spam 50 of them and call it a day. Keep it within a 5-12 rep range as the higher you go above that, the more fatigue you’ll incur and therefore harder to push it to an effective proximity to failure (as well as increased form breakdown and likelihood of injury)
And if course, MAKE SURE YOU DONT NEGLECT YOUR POSTER DELT
It is one of the most under developed muscles on most peoples physique and has a profound effect on the shape of your shoulder and back
