Team photo from the Irish Lacrosse League final against Dublin Lacrosse Club. The final, played last Saturday, was an extremely tense and entertaining game with the scores stuck at 2-1 until the last quarter when, unfortunately for the Prawns, Dublin Lacrosse club pulled away to win 5-2. So thats it for the 2015/16 season but the will be back next season to try and reclaim their crown!

Third in our series of player profiles (but first in many hearts) is Ger Harris, veteran Prawns defenseman.

Another product of the UCD Lacrosse system, Ger Harris holds the joint record for the most ILL Championships on his CV having won titles for all three lacrosse clubs in Dublin. Described by many as a 'cerebral' defender, Gerard refuses to utilise physicality on the field, preferring to halt attacks purely through precise poke checks and superior positioning. On the ball, he is regularly reprimanded by his teammates for attempting to play offence with a d-pole, despite his protestations that he hits the crossbar more often than any other pole in Irish lacrosse history.

Ger was an integral part of the Prawns Defence last season and is primed to carry on that form into this campaign having finally reached his target body fat percentage of 4%. Something tells me the ILL has yet to see the full power that this 'Cannon' can truly unleash.

Time for our second player profile! introducing Kevin "Moffat" Quinn

Position: Goaltender.
Hometown: Ballina, Mayo, IRL.
National Team appearances:
World Championships 2010/2014.
European Championships 2012.

Like almost the entire Prawns squad, Moff is a product of UCD Lacrosse. Our Mayo-born goaltender is known best for his Roy Keane-esque hair and beard combinations and his no nonsense style of play. Not one for relying on his defenders to hit people Moff can regularly be seen cross checking any rival players who end up on the Prawn's crease. Also a formidable player with the ball, Moff loves going coast to coast and holds the title of most goals scored by a goalie in the Irish Lacrosse League.

An ever present player for the Prawns and another of the founding members, Moff is a crucial member of the squad and hopefully will be tormenting rival attack-men for years to come.

With our first player profile we introduce Paul Murran.
Position: Attack
Hometown: Waterford , IRL
National Team Appearances: 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014

Known best for: The creation of the Over The Shoulder With Paul Murran documentary and for scoring ridiculous no angle shots, such as a game winning goal against UCD in 2012; which on its way to the sideline took a deflection off the butt end of then UCD player Ger Harris' stick and trickled over the line. He repeated this feat in 2015's league final where he shot from 20m with no angle out to the surprise of everybody on the field and scored a crucial goal against UCD on the stroke of half time.

On a side note our Waterford born attackman and UCD graduate is also credited with masterminding the creation of the Prawns which was initially planned as a summer touring team. The Prawns eventually joined the league as a splinter team from Dublin Lacrosse LC which by 2010 was getting too big. Without the vision of our great Emperor Prawn, sometimes referred to as the modern day messiah of Irish lacrosse its safe to say our Dublin Bay Prawns would never have made it out of the sea...
