Steinbockjoch & Parstleswand Westgipfel (3091m) ❤️⛰️
Another rainy day in the big mountains… Some days make you feel tiny in the best possible way.
The Kaunergrat mountains are incredible—I can honestly say that. Rocks everywhere.
Parstleswand Westgipfel (3091 m) was our highest peak of the trip. The signs to the top weren’t always easy to follow, and just as we got close, the rain started again. We made a quick push to the summit and headed straight back across the big rocks to reach the hut safely.
We started in 20°C down in the valley, but by the time we reached the hut, it was around 5°C with strong wind. Another reminder that mountain weather is always something else.
I lost count of the “wow” moments—and of the salamanders. The wet and cooler conditions seemed to bring them out everywhere, and every new one made me smile.
These are the days that remind me why I love mountain running so much. Not because it’s easy, but because every step feels earned.
