The Ultimate Showdown: Giant TCR or Giant Propel 🚴♂️💨
"New bike day? More like judgment day. After all the hype surrounding the newly released Giant Propel, the internet claimed,
‘The TCR is dead. Propel is the only bike you need now.’
But you know me—I don’t trust spec sheets; I trust the road, as I am much weaker than I was
Spent 3 days back-to-back hammering the 10th-gen Giant TCR (released last year) against the brand-new Propel on a brutal mix of steep climbs and fast flats. Dual bike computers synced, zero bias. Here is the raw truth from a hobby rider.
1. The Speed Illusion 💨
Riding the Propel feels like flying. You can literally hear and feel the air slipping past your face. It screams speed. But the telemetry didn’t lie: over a mixed route, my average speed between the two bikes was almost identical
2. Pure Stiffness vs. Frame Soul 🏔️
When you stomp on the pedals, the Propel is a rocket—pure, unyielding stiffness and instant power transfer. But on the climbs? The TCR has this magical, snapping compliance. The frame flexes and responds with you
3. The Hobby Rider Reality Check 🖥️💥
Let’s be real.
I’m a desk warrior with the classic lower-back stiffness to prove it.
The Propel demands you to be an athlete to tame it—it’s like trying to break a wild stallion.
The TCR? It wraps around you. It’s pure harmony.
It’s "man and machine as one" to me
The Verdict? 👇
As being just a hobby rider, I won’t tell you which bike is objectively "better." We all know the golden rule: look cool first, ride fast second. But if I could only keep one bike in my garage?
It’s the TCR.
Every single time.
The TCR simply cannot disappear. 😊
💬 TCR Purists vs. Propel Aero Disciples: Which side are you on?
BY THE WAY, how do you like my new customized TCR Advanced Pro 0 with CADEX build?
Parking it right next to the Manthey Racing 992.1 GT3R with the new Giant Propel at Nürburgring means something to me indeed 😘😘😘
