One of the things I like the most about the school of BODYART and BODYART Hungary is the constant opportunity for growth. Last weekend we had the chance to participate in an amazing workshop on Meridian Flow done by Julia Przybilka.
It is never just the words that we gain knowledge from, actually what we take away contains verbality in a very small percentage. What enriches us, and what we can give to eachother whenever we meet, is the energy and the quality of attention, the quality of BEING there in that particular moment or situation with the other.
Julia , I am thankful to you, as to me with your words and the way you behave provided a kind reinforcement, that spirituality and practicality are not attitudes that confront but rather ones that can complement eachother. We can - and need to - familiarize ourselves with reality and in a way befriend it, and at the same time it is good to be aware that it contains more than what we can see and touch.
This brings us to the notion of Flow. "Be like water" - as Julia quoted Bruce Lee. 🌊Water is gently and effortlessly flowing, seemingly going around obstacles instead of fighting and defeating them ( although it can be an immense force when contained against its nature), but in end it always gets to where it is supposed to. This softness and adaptability is in many situations much more useful to us, especially on the long run, than we would imagine.
We are conditioned in the everyday hustle to always take the active and vigorous approach of the doer, to initiate, step in, to fight, use force and not rarely to even push beyond our limits. There is nothing wrong with that, I can surely easily identify with the fiery part 🔥 which I feel so close to as a very characteristic element of my personality. However it is good to remember that this is the YANG side of things. Which we evidently need for survival and progression in our lives...but we need to live a healthy balance otherwise we risk tiring ourselves out in all that fuss, when in some cases there is an EASIER way to go.
We need to let the YIN part in, to have it's rightful influence, so that we can restore the peace within.
Besides giving we need to know how to receive. Besides doing sometimes it is better - and actually feels better - to patiently wait or even more so, only to give space and freedom to whatever evolves without actual expectations.
And every once in a while, instead of looking for the pleasant and exciting company of other people, we need to notice when we would only use that as a distraction and maybe choose to experience the quietness and the stillness of being alone.
There is no right or wrong choice, it is always the situation and the circumstances in the light of what one or the other quality can be interpreted.
BODYART Meridian Flow teaches us to be patient and wait for the breath to arrive, and let it start the move in us without always rushing in advance. It helps us to get back to our natural and healthier pace. No wonder it works through a flow of pulsating moves, creating a gentle but consistent rythm, similar to our heartbeat.
And it is just always great to re-discover how wonderfully our bodies and our natural reality is put together. This is no news to anatomy nerds 💕, I know.
I am grateful to Borsodi Balázs who trusted me again with doing the interprering work, after Alexa now for Julia ( translating her words from English into Hungarian), it is a big responsibility and an honour, but no matter how tiring it is I always enjoy it much more! 😊 body and MIND training indeed 😄.
Also a big THANK YOU for all the BODYART people 🤸♀️ who took this course, Gabriella Schindl to whom I also thank for the majority of the photos!, Edina Ramm Dora Ramm Renata Uhrinova Judit Viola Csilla Gogh Neri-Matiz Esztella Mónika Horváth Nóra Kövesd Kiss and Puma Andrea Zöld for the administration and help with the notes. I sensed some really nice vibes throughout the whole weekend, which meant a great help to me in the translating work, and also thanks for the patience of those who speak and understand English perfectly anyway!
