2nd Ikueikan International Wado Cup

DEAR WADO FRIENDS!
Unfortunately, we have bad news! Due to epidemiological restrictions, Japanese athletes and Master Matsuzaki will not be able to travel this year either. Without their presence, it is unnecessary to hold the Ikueikan Cup as they represent Ikueikan. We agreed together to organize the event in 2023 in the hope that there will be no restrictions next year.

REFEREES AND JUDGES
Dear participants, athletes, coaches and referees!
We would like the 2nd Ikueikan Cup to be supported by the participating clubs and countries with work of referees and judges. More equitable and acceptable results are obtained when more referees and judges from more nations appreciate the performance of the competitors. However, I would like to symbolically reward their work:
EKF (International) certification 60 EUR
WKF (National) certification 40 EUR
The cost of the referees and judges can be deducted from the entry fee. That is, at the time of registration, participating teams have to pay less with the referees and judges' fees. The names and qualifications of the referees and judges can be entered with the entries in the orange column.

ENTRIES
Submitting entries for the 2nd Ikueikan Karate Cup is similar to submitting entries through Sportsdata system. The name of the site: karateprogramok.hu. This site could be familiar to teams that competed in Hungary before. Fort he submission you will need a gmail adress.

Steps for submission:
Through e-mail: to submit entries, please follow this steps:
- Write an e-mail to this address: [email protected]
- In this e-mail please write your gmail address, the name of your club and your country.
- You can only edit the online entry page from a gmail account.
- You will receive an entry form within the next 24 hours.
- You don’t have to save your data because the spreadsheet is saved automatically!

Through internet if we have a gmail address:
- Load www.karateprogramok.hu to your browser.
- Find the „FŐMENÜ” button, choose „Május” next to it and then click on Ikueikan Cup 2020.
- Click on Nevezés/Entry
- You have to fill a „Nevezési lehetőség kérő űrlap - Request for submitting entries” document at the Nevezés/Entry page so that you can edit the registration page.
- Sign in with your gmail address.
- Go again on Ikueikan Cup 2020 and click on „NEVEZÉS – Submitting entries”. Here you can find all new informations which also can be found at the event’s page.
- After writing the name of the competitior the category can be chosen from the drop-down menu.

LOCATION OF THE 2nd IKUEIKAN INTERNATIONAL WADO CUP

Dear Wado Friends, Sportmates!
We would like to invite all wado karatekas and everyone who is interested to the Japanese Ikueikan Federation’s second restricted karate championship to which Budapest will give a home after last year’s place, Austria. The event will take place at the UTE Multifunctional Sporthall (Nr 30. of Szilágyi street, 1046 Budapest) which was handed last year.

The sporthall was designed in 2014 and was opened in 2019 with a floor area of 2,000 square meters. The hall can accommodate up to 6 tatamis, with a permanent 500-seat stand on one side and a 110-seat mobile stand on the other. Both inside and outside the building bears the purple-white colors of the UTE sports club.

Kijima Akihiko (1946-2018)
Former head coach of Japanese University National Team & Kinki University. Numerous title of World & Japanese champions (individual & team) as a coach such as Atsuko Wakai, Ko Matsuhisa, Ken Nishimura. Sensei Akihiko Kijima who brought up the Kinki University Karatedo club into “the strongest.”

ACCOMODATION
Fort he participants of the 2nd Ikueikan Cup we recommend the Aquaworld Resort Budapest accomodation as it’s really close to the event’s venue. The hotel provides preferential accomodation to the participants during the event which can be reached with a special code.
The booking process is:
Guests can start the booking on the following link of the hotel’s site:

The link will direct you straight to the hotel’s english site, then you can click on the BOOKING button seen at the right upper corner. A booking window will pop up then you have to click on the BOOK DIRECT white inscription on blue background found at the window’s lower right side.
At the bottom of the page that pops up click on the ADD CODE drop down arrow which will immediately ask for the special code created for the participants. We ask the kind guests to write the code NIHON2020 to the cell positioned under the Discount Code cell so that special prices will be available (system does not make a difference if written with big or small letters).
Here every guest can book an accomodation as they like.
If guests will book rooms for 3 nights between 2020.04.29-05.03. then you will get an at-that-time promotion named 2=3 where other prices will be valid, that means the 3rd night will be free.
After clicking on „update dates of stay” we choose the standard room and start payment with the checkout button.

2nd Ikueikan International Wado Cup

Dear Wado Friends, Sportmates!

We would like to invite all wado karatekas and everyone who is interested to the Japanese Ikueikan Federation’s second restricted karate championship to which Budapest will give a home after last year’s place, Austria. The event will take place at the UTE Multifunctional Sporthall (Nr 30. of Szilágyi street, 1046 Budapest) which was handed last year.
The event got the name Ikueikan because Master Nukina would have liked to pay tribute to the memory of his recently passed late coach, Kijima Akihiko for who he was very thankful during his time in university and also wanted to salute to his Master Akio Matsusaki, leader of the Japanese Ikueikan Dojo where he started to learn karate.
At the first event, 7 countries’ 23 clubs participated and we are very thankful for them that they honored us with their participation. We truly hope that we can count on them this year too and more clubs, more countries will be part of the next events! Of course the Japanese team will join the event this year aswell approximately with twice as big number of competitors as last year. Akio Matsusaki, 6th dan JKF Wadokai Master, head coach of the Ikueikan Dojo in Nagoya and Murase Hisao 7th dan Master, kumite World Champion, late coach of the Japanese National Team, 4 times Japanese National Champion will accompany the Japanese team. The masters will give kata and kumite seminars on Sunday morning, the next day after the competition.
So with all love, we are waiting anyone who would like to spend a weekend with Japanese competitors this or that way.
