Idejen Initiative pour le Developpement des Jeunes Initially considered a project, IDEJEN acquired in 2010 the status of Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

IDEJEN began operations in 2003, following a request from the Inter-American Agency for Development (USAID) to draw up an inventory of the situation of young people outside the school environment in Haiti. Since its inception, the organization’s mission is to offer a second chance to children and youth in difficult circumstances to become independent and to contribute to the socioeconomic developm

ent of the country as well-rounded citizens. More specifically, the NGO IDEJEN has now become a recognized agent of change that facilitates the socioeconomic reintegration of the youth from an intervention model incorporating non-formal basic education, vocational training and accompaniment. This model tested, adapted and used for more than ten (10) years uses an integrated approach that addresses the development profile of the young in all of its components. IDEJEN also contributed to strengthening the capacity of the communities for better management of the youth. Since its conception, IDEJEN made sustainable contributions, the foundation of its viability and credibility evidenced by the presence of seven (7) Schools-Atelier. IDEJEN constantly ensures the usefulness of its presence and the quality of the citizens that it trains.

En partenariat avec le Ministère de l’éducation nationale et de la formation professionnelle (MENFP), le Ministère de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de l’Action Civique (MJSAC), l’Initiative pour le développement des jeunes (IDEJEN) et dans le cadre de Génération Sans Limites, l’UNICEF Haiti organise ce jeudi et vendredi un forum des adolescents et des jeunes sur l'employabilité.
