HASK Mladost

🎄The day after Christmas, while the city was still slowly waking from the holiday calm, a cheerful group of enthusiasts chose oars over rest. On December 26, 2025, despite the chilly and overcast weather, St. Stephen’s Day Rowing took place at Zagreb’s Jarun Lake as part of the GoldAge project – a multisport initiative promoting physical activity for adults aged 60+.

🚣There may have been no sunshine, but the warmth of community spirit more than made up for it. Participants – all 60+ – proved that neither cold weather nor age is a barrier to movement, laughter, and shared experiences.

🧡 GoldAge, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, is designed to promote healthy ageing and social inclusion through regular, adapted multisport activities. With the support of trained coaches and volunteers, the project empowers older adults to stay active, connected, and confident in their golden years.

Fondazione S.S. Lazio 1900 ETS was proud to support the Over 60 event, organised together with ACSI and Lazio Calcio A8, celebrating sport as a powerful driver of wellbeing, social connection and community participation.

This initiative stems directly from the EU-financed GOLDAGE project – “Training for Active Ageing”, funded under Erasmus+ Sport, which promotes accessible and inclusive physical activity for adults aged 60+. The project brings together a strong European partnership within the EMCA network, led by Levski Sport for All (Bulgaria), with HAŠK Mladost (Croatia) and Fondazione S.S. Lazio 1900 ETS (Italy).

Seeing the concept translated into a real event, with teams, smiles, and an extraordinary sense of unity, is exactly what GOLDAGE is about: supporting healthy ageing through sport, and keeping communities active across generations.

📣 Over 580 participants at the Senior Gymnastics Showcase!
Today, Triaditsa Hall, Sofia hosted 24 clubs for elderly from across the country, presenting their routines and dances, proving that age is just a number when it comes to sport.

⭐ Lusien Velchev , President of Сдружение "Левски-Спорт за всички" / Association "Levski-Sport for all" said:

“Age is just a number — your spirit defines who you are. Sport and physical activity are essential for everyone’s health. Levski – Sport for All will continue supporting older adults in building healthy habits.”

🏃‍♀️🌟 AGE IS JUST A NUMBER — ENERGY IS FOREVER!

Today in Borisova Garden, Sofia, more than 70 older adults took part in a vibrant sports celebration as part of the GoldAge project, funded by the European Commission.

Together, we marked the World Smile Day with:
✅ 30-meter sprints
✅ Long jump
✅ Target ball throw

These incredible athletes proved that active ageing is not a concept — it’s a lifestyle.
Their passion, strength, and positivity inspired everyone present!

🎙️ During the opening speech, Lusien Velchev , presiden Сдружение "Левски-Спорт за всички" / Association "Levski-Sport for all" highlighted:

“Due to inflation, crises, and pension system changes, many older adults today face social vulnerability. That’s why physical activity and social inclusion through sport are more important than ever. The GOLDAGE project is here to support that.”

Vanina Milanova: "GOLDAGE is not just a project – it's a movement. We’re proving that age is not a limitation, but an advantage when the spirit stays alive and the body stays active."

🐟Age is not a barrier: HAŠK Mladost rowing veterans on Lake Jarun

Veteran rowers of HAŠK Mladost showed during a special training session held on Thursday, 12 June 2025, at Lake Jarun in Zagreb. As part of the European project GOLDAGE, the training brought together 20 members of our veteran section, led by coaches Zoran Emeršić and Goran Nusker. Participants were between 65 and 70 years old, with the oldest being 82 – a clear reminder of what we at HAŠK Mladost have always believed: age is just a number, not a limit.

As part of the European project GOLDAGE – Training for Active Ageing, co-financed by the Erasmus+ Sport program, the SS Lazio 1900 ETS Foundation, in collaboration with SS Lazio Calcio a 8, is developing an innovative physical activity program in Rome for people over 60. The project also involves two European partners: Levski Sport for All (Bulgaria) and HASK Mladost (Croatia), united in the EMCA (European Multisport Club Association) network.

Through specific training for coaches and volunteers, the Foundation has built a technical team capable of offering safe and engaging multisport activities, including soccer, gentle gymnastics, and urban circuits. The technical contribution of SS Lazio Calcio a 8 has been crucial in adapting soccer to the needs of the elderly population, offering an accessible, fun, and socializing sports experience.
