It was an absolute honor to share the stage with these two incredible athletes…so humble, so kind, and full of positive energy.
Both from Malta, they stood beside me during my very first competition there. One of them, without hesitation, lent me his own weights during warm-up an act of pure respect and generosity. That same man later went on to become a European champion in the Masters category in Santa Susanna.
Andrew, standing to my left, had a profound impact on me. At that first show, I was overwhelmed…nervous, stressed, and full of doubt. But his calm presence and uplifting energy brought me peace in the chaos. I will always remember that moment.
Andrew went on to place 5th at the European Championship…an amazing achievement and a true reflection of his dedication and spirit.
Two weeks later at the European Championship, the judges didn’t allow me to compete in the shorts I had. Without skipping a beat, Andrew stepped in and gave me his spare pair. That simple act meant the world to me.
This is what true sportsmanship looks like.
It’s not just about medals or titles…it’s about character, support, and lifting each other up.
I’m deeply grateful to have crossed paths with people like this. That is the true wealth in sport…and in life.
