My name is Nick Hathaway and I was born to sail, although I did not discover this until my twenties! My first sailing experience was being thrown on to the bow of a 35ft racing yacht in the Bay Of Islands for one of the biggest racing weeks of the year in New Zealand. Since then my life has revolved around sailing. I started sailing seriously a year later when I traded in the power boat and bought
my first yacht. From there I threw myself into racing and sailing whenever I could. I met my partner in crime Candyce (she also goes by Mahina) and the only way she could spend time with me was to jump on board! So she did. Which was no mean feat for this fresh water girl from Taupo. She was hesitant at first, getting used to the ropes (literally). It was a steep learning curve! We began racing our 26ft Gazelle with my father, and we both caught the sailing 'bug'. Now sailing is a way of life. For both of us. It's our business and it's our pleasure. We use it for team building, holidays, family get togethers... You name it, we can incorporate sailing into it! We have sailed extensively in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean, throughout New Zealand and have spent a year getting to know Sydney Harbour. And we want you to come sailing with us.
