Situated around a narrow sea strait, partly on the mainland and partly on the island of Murter, it is famous for its bridge. The bridge raises up (yes, it does) twice a day, so for a total of one hour each day, the island of Murter can only be reached by sea. Locals from both sides of Tisno meet once a year to compete at „the Bridge Games“, taking place in the narrow strait and ensuring the winnin
g side pride and glory until next year's competition. Old stone houses, narrow streets, Mediterranean vegetation and cuisine, the smell of pines and salt in the air, clear blue sea and neat beaches are here for your relaxing vacation. Don't worry, there are also plenty of electronic music festivals during July and August should you wish to spice things up a little bit. The apartment Fontana is located on the island part of Tisno, in the busy main square which is the stage for many music events during the summer season. You won't have to use your car much, as many interesting, as well as relaxing spots are at walking distance from the apartment. The sanctuary of the Lady of Karavaj, the patron saint of Tisno, is a short(600m) climb uphill from the apartment and it provides stunning views of the surrounding area. Another lovely viewpoint is by the church of St. Andrew, right on your way to the long, natural stone beach of St. Andrew, some 650 meters from the apartment. If you're here for an active holiday – rent a bike, go hiking to the other side of the island, go diving, sail to the Kornati national park or Telašćica nature park, visit Krka national park(36km, 34min with the car) or Vrana lake nature park (23km), and come back for a good night's rest at Fontana. Usually, people who come to Tisno once, keep returning (I've been coming back myself every summer since I was 3 months old!).
