If you would like to reveal the beauty of the Istrian sea bed, Hippocampus diving center is the ideal starting point for diving. Join us for a diving course or dive to some of the most famous scuttled ships in Istrian underwater like Baron Gautsch, Vis, Submarine, Varese, Draga. If you are more attracted to diving by the walls or tunnels, night dives or caves, Hippocampus is again the right place

because we have several such destinations in our offer. The center itself is surrounded by the rich pine wood and close by a pebble beach, ideal for the beginners who want to dive for the first time or to begin with the diving school (SSI, CMAS). We know that safety and a serious approach are the most important for a relaxed diving, and for that reason we have taken special care for this matter. Above all, our priority is quality preparation before the dive, education of the guides, and diving under the supervision of professional.

Protula tubularia forms white, calcareous tubes on hard substratum in the lower shore,to depths of 100 m im shady areas.The colour of the slightly spiralled tentacles are white, orange or pink.
The red-spotted horseshoe tube worm is a filter feeder, feeding on plankton.

Next time you're diving in Croatua and happen to see a little puff of purple, blue, or violet — look closer.

What you may be seeing is a Flabellina affinis, a sea slug no more than a few centimetres in length. This particular kind of sea slug is a nudibranch. Yes, sea slugs are related to our own land slugs. Just more colourful. And underwater.

If you look closely, you'll see a soft body covered in little white-tipped purple-ish tentacles, with two pairs of longer tentacles on one end.
