⚓ Sailing Tip: Sumartin, Brač

Na jihovýchodním cípu ostrova Brač leží malé přístavní městečko Sumartin – klidné místo, které si zamilují hlavně ti, kdo hledají autentickou atmosféru Dalmácie mimo hlavní turistické trasy.

Pro jachtaře je to ideální zastávka na cestě po Jadranu.
Loď můžete uvázat přímo na rivu v přístavu, dát si večeři v některé z místních restaurací a večer si užít klidnou atmosféru dalmatského přístavu při západu slunce.

Jen pár minut odtud se nachází také historická obec Selca, rodiště slovenského spisovatele a lékaře Martina Kukučína, který na Brači zanechal výraznou kulturní stopu.

💡What is Bora and how do you know it is coming?

Bora in Croatia is a cold, gusty wind from the northeast, rushing down from the mountains. It often follows Jugo and clears the air 🌤️.
You can spot it before it hits — look for low clouds forming on the coastal peaks ⛰️☁️.

It’s strongest around Zadar, especially in spring and autumn 🌪️.
Good news for summer sailors — in July and August it’s usually rare and mild ⛵️☀️.

Bora is extremely gusty between the islands, which makes it tricky even for experienced sailors ⚠️.
It doesn’t last long, and the safest option is to wait it out on the leeward side of islands 🌊.
