𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐮𝐩 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔⁣

We defended our title. SailingPass R-Team are champions again in 2026, after our 2025 win.⁣

This one means a lot. We won most of the races, but it was anything but easy.⁣

Seventeen teams were fighting for the title, and the level of the fleet was incredibly high. At times, after just one day, it was hard to tell who to watch — everyone was pushing for the win.⁣

There were constant battles on the water. We had to defend, we had to attack, and we had to stay sharp every second.⁣

Once again, we proved that no one can feel comfortable with R-Team behind them.⁣

The conditions kept changing — different wind strengths, shifting directions — but our focus never did. We never let go of the goal, not for a single moment.⁣

We sailed with confidence, with trust in each other, and with one clear objective — to win it again.⁣

And we did.⁣

𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧’𝐬 𝐂𝐮𝐩⁣

A 102-nautical-mile offshore race through the night — one of the biggest challenges of the week.⁣

After winning it in 2025 in extreme Bora, we thought it couldn’t get tougher. We were wrong.⁣

The start was solid, but just after the first checkpoint we realized our gennaker was torn.⁣
We had to take it down — and watch the fleet sail past us.⁣

Huge respect to the foredeck crew — in 20+ knots and waves, at night, they turned the boat into a sail repair workshop and managed to fix it. By then, six boats had already passed us. But giving up was never an option.⁣

By morning, the Adriatic turned brutal. 40+ knots of wind, steep short waves, thunder, lightning, and hail hitting us constantly. The boat was covered in ice, ropes frozen, visibility down to barely 100 meters. Our navigation instruments failed, and our navigator guided us from inside the boat.⁣

Everything was tested. We had been awake for over 24 hours.⁣

Then, as the weather started to clear, we spotted the fleet about 1.5 miles ahead. And that’s when the R-Team spirit kicked in again.⁣
Gennaker up — fully repaired. A big risk, one no one else took.⁣

We held it. We pushed. We caught the fleet — and even managed one last overtake before the finish.⁣
We crossed the line in 5th place. In those conditions, after everything, we couldn’t be prouder.⁣

After 102 nautical miles, the entire fleet finished within just 10 minutes. Incredibly tight racing.⁣

A huge thank you to the organizers for putting together an outstanding event.⁣ Captains Cup & Adria Kupa

Next time, you can meet us at the SailingPass Regatta, where many R-Team members will be competing against each other.

Our focus is already shifting towards Copa del Rey in Spain 🇪🇸
where we’ll be racing with a J122, ready for the next challenge.

Day 4 of the Adria Cup.
A shorter race near Vis Island, but with stronger wind that kept the pressure on the entire time. No easy moments out there.
We stayed sharp, sailed clean, and took another victory.

Karnevalska Regata – Biograd Recap

Last weekend we were in Biograd for the Karnevalska Regata.
We sailed a Beneteau First 36 for the first time — a boat we’ve been eyeing for a long time.

It delivered. Everything felt in the right place. Responsive, balanced, powerful. Safe to say: we’ll be back on it.

After a long off-season, Friday was about shaking off the rust.
The following days? Pure Adriatic character — strong Yugo, then Bora.

Saturday’s first race in heavy Yugo was exactly what we needed:
start-to-finish victory in our class.
And there were plenty of First 36s on the line. For the first time this season, we truly felt both the boat — and ourselves — again.
The second race looked just as promising. We were chasing in second, closing in, confident we had the pace.

Then disaster.
At the leeward mark we lost steering. We simply couldn’t turn to starboard. Race over. Retirement. Podium hopes gone in a moment.

We spent hours fixing the issue, and on Sunday we made it back to the start line — but for us, it was already a cool-down day.

Lately, luck hasn’t been on our side technically.
But this weekend felt different. It felt good to fight at the front again.

Next up: Adria Cup and Captains Cup, where we arrive as defending champions — and our goal is clear: keep the titles.

After crossing the finish line in Monte Carlo, we spent a few unforgettable days there — taking part in the regatta events, meeting other sailors, and soaking up the atmosphere of this incredible race.

Then it was time to say goodbye to Aldebaran (Bavaria C55). We handed the boat over to the delivery crew, who sailed her safely back to Rogoznica, Croatia — a journey of about 1,200 nautical miles around Italy, Corsica, and Sicily.

Looking back, this entire expedition was so much more than just a race. It was an adventure full of challenges, teamwork, night sails, storms, and moments we’ll never forget.

A special thanks to Zoltán Hugyecz, the owner of the yacht, for making this whole experience possible and for his incredible support throughout the journey. 🙏⚓

With that, our Palermo–Montecarlo 20th edition story comes to an end — but the memories will keep us inspired for a long time. 💙

The Start & The Storm

Tuesday at noon, the race began. Winds were light, sometimes disappearing completely, and surrounded by sleek racing yachts it was clear that with our Bavaria C55 cruiser we wouldn’t be at the front of the fleet. Still, the excitement was real. The start itself was unforgettable — launched by a cannon shot from an Italian Navy tall ship.

Ahead of us: 450 nautical miles across the Tyrrhenian Sea. The sea showed us every mood: calm, light breeze, strong winds.

But Thursday night, near the coast of Sardinia, things turned serious. A large storm system swept past just ahead of us. We spent the night in its powerful downdrafts, with gusts and waves reaching 4 meters. The crew and the boat were pushed to their limits.

By dawn, the biggest breakdown in our sailing years struck. We were forced to stop and spend 20 hours in a nearby port for emergency repairs. Our race was effectively over.

Yet, once the boat was patched up and the crew gathered strength again, we decided to continue. We sailed on and finished the full distance to Monte Carlo.

It wasn’t the race we hoped for, but it became something else: a test of resilience, teamwork, and seamanship. We faced countless challenges and technical failures, but the crew never gave up. We returned not with disappointment, but with new experiences, unforgettable stories, and fresh lessons learned.

We finally reached Palermo – of course, arriving in the middle of the night. Luckily, as race participants, a mooring place was waiting for us.

Here our crew became complete: the last 3 members joined, bringing us to a full team of 10 sailors. But with only 3 days before the start, there was no time to waste. Remember that long list of things to fix? We split into small groups and worked all day under the hot Sicilian sun.

Still, it wasn’t only about work. Evenings were for enjoying the race events, and we managed a quick stroll through the city to soak up Palermo’s summer vibe. We even went out for a test sail, just to check if all the repairs and adjustments held up.

We got everything ready – almost at the very last moment. In fact, we were still fixing things just before the start. At least, we thought we were ready…

Our team took on a very special journey – delivering a Bavaria C55 to Palermo for the 20th edition of the Palermo–Monte Carlo Race.

We started out from Rogoznica in Croatia, stopped at Brindisi in Italy, then continued on past Lipari before finally reaching Palermo. In total, we sailed more than 600 nautical miles with a crew of 7 sailors on board.

Even though the C55 is more of a cruiser than a racer, she carried us day and night as we hurried to make it on time. Along the way, we had some unforgettable moments:

🎣 Catching a tuna at sea, which became two perfect dinners for the crew.

🌋 Sailing through the Messina Strait and passing by a smoking volcano.

🌅 Endless shifts under sun and stars, pushing forward mile after mile.

But this wasn’t just a holiday adventure – it was also serious preparation. We tested the yacht under real conditions, checked every piece of equipment, and by the time we arrived in Palermo, we had a long list of fixes, replacements, and adjustments to tackle. Thankfully, we made it in three days before the start, giving us just enough time to get the boat race-ready as much as possible.

A delivery packed with challenges, teamwork, and memories – all part of the story behind racing the Palermo–Monte Carlo. ⚓⛵
